New wheels....

3 Attachment(s)
So I picked up something else I really don't need today:
Attachment 286321

Attachment 286322

Attachment 286323

I picked it up from the ORIGINAL owner and he gave me all the receipts from the car with the original window sticker. The folder is about 3 inches thick. Anyway, it needs somethings but thats expected from something thats almost a classic (5 more years). I did compression check it and it is strong. There are 160K on the odometer, 40K on the motor.

But...........................I do have an issue:

If anyone can help out, please let me know.

sounds like old bushings as stated. all that NA torque is twisting the rear end. get the car on jacks and play around with the rear end and figure out what is loose/shifting.

good find!

Nice first gen and RX8. I just walked the dog by your house and saw the two in the driveway.

Well, I talked to Ray at Malloy today and he seems to think its a broken diff mount. So, now I need to get under it and check it out and I need to find one. The weather needs to warm up!

Foreignracer, do you live by Mike (Otaku)? I swear after looking at those pictures of your new 7 i remember it being where Mike lives!

They are alright. There are many, many things that could be improved like the management and maintenance staff. I will not get into it but they are a PITA!

Thanks for the offer, but I am going to run this car as stock as possible so I will not need a stiffer mount. The only thing that I am doing is a spring/coilover setup. They look much better closer to the ground.

foreignracer 03-14-08 06:56 PM

So I got under it tonight and the diff mount is not a broken. The passenger side wheel is just like its supposed to be. The drivers side wheel I can wiggle like the lug nuts are loose. I don't see anything broken so it seems like a bushings and appears that way. Bushings are not going to be fun to replace.

CrackHeadMel 03-14-08 07:00 PM

there not that bad, just find of funky getting the hole hub on and off with the bushings in place

foreignracer 03-21-08 12:54 PM

Wow, no activity here in a week.......everyone still alive?

mylove=88rxseven 03-21-08 03:14 PM

just wondering if there are going to be some meets around nh or have they already happened cause i always seem to miss them. and while my 7 needs alot of help i lke meeting people who own rx7s because they understand why i own one

CrackHeadMel 03-21-08 11:33 PM

grade247 03-22-08 10:37 PM

I was trying to get a NICOclub and rx7club drive to happen sometime in may/june but I guess no one here is really down with crusing with other car guys come one a kank run with the 240 guys that would be fun.

just my 02 cents I am going either way the nicoclub does at least 5 or 6 kank runs a year

mylove=88rxseven 03-22-08 10:54 PM

why not its always fun to just go driving i think it would be loads of fun

EDIT: on this matter HIN Boston is coming at the end of april. if a bunch of people are going maybe we could all meet and go as a group that wold be fun.

boriqua51371 03-23-08 03:26 PM

we can always try to meet up on street day at epping i brough my car there a few times and i seen a lot of rotaries come up from mass that day maybe we can work something out about pricing .

mylove=88rxseven 03-23-08 06:15 PM

hell yeah that would be loads of fun except i dont think they would let me run my car if they do a saftey inspection on it. and i dont have a helmet

grade247 03-23-08 11:32 PM

yea I am down with going to epping been there a few times when I had my GTP

You don't need a helmet unless your running in the 12's and I don't think the do a safety inspection on street nights. I could be wrong, Crack can probably be the supreme authority on this.

CrackHeadMel 03-25-08 04:48 PM

well not supreme, i quit that place, (omg no more stress or redicilous houres) i work at a machine shop now

but yes, they do do safty inspections (tech inspections) on street nights, and im wiling to bet the tech department is going to be a lil more strict th is year givin management changes that have gone on this year at the track, so make it legal or htey prob will fail you

mylove=88rxseven 03-25-08 10:08 PM

i am working on it. its hard when some one else butchered the car :wallbash: and i have to fix it. oh well it will get fixed. i love the car no matter what is wrong with it. its mostly rust and my really loud exhaust i am worried about.
