ok i just talked to the owner of the track and we are a GO for July 23rd 2006 @ Island Dragway in NJ. it will basically be the same format as last year car show+drag racing at the very end. anyone wishing to donate/advertise please let me know. i am hoping for more cars than last year which if i remember right was nearly 100! i will post more info as soon as i have it. thank you!

Yeah I'm planning on going also, I was there in 2002 and without my car in 2003, and the last two years i couldn't go, so as long as everything goes well i'll be there with my 84SE, was fun the two times i was there.

And just like last year i will be getting the NY NJ caravan together. Now that you guys know how deep we rolled last year wont flip on us and will join us. As time gets closer i will post up stuff and most likely well meet up by the GWB instead of the holland tunnel cuase we wound up going up that way anyways

^I'm right in Yonkers, we could work something out. There's another member who lives in Beacon, who might hopefully be coming this year. I don't know how far away from you that is. Also, another member with his hopefully finished TII swap should be down to go, he loves the rotary.

And I am down to go, as well. Count me in the NYC/NJ Caravan.

Thanks for setting this up. Would we be allowed to race earlier? I rememeber the last event there were a lot of American cars running earlier and we ran last. Would be be allowed just to pay extra and run with the american cars? as well to get some test time in?

So this isn't a Rotary only drag race?

Last year we got the track at the end of the day. I think it was around 3 or 4. There weren't many people running so we didn't have to sit in line very long.

I know last year if you entered the show you couldn't go over to the pit side of the track, and the same went for those who were there for test and tune.

This isn't sounding like too much fun. :(

Hmm... I'd like to do both, Show and Drag. I hope they can work something out........

if its possible you guys can meet up with us NY guys since you gotta pass by our state first . And if its feasable lets roll

this is a car show + drag racing (at the very end) if you don't want to be in the car show. you can go drag race the whole day @ test n tune. honestly we do not have enough cars show(ing) + racing to have a rotary only day at the track. the track owner is awesome but he is there to take care of all his customers . again any questions/comments/complaints pm me

I would have to say Kan is a slight favorite.
With all the guys over 600 RWHP. Its gonna come
down to Traction. and the 2-3 shift..

Think they can set up bracket racing(Elimination) or what ever they call it.
Where every one dial in a ET and who ever is consistant but not faster
than the dial in, can win.
So everyone can play, from the fastest with slowest?

Would be funny to see a NA FA, beat out the BIG BOYS with big turbos.
Considering with FI so many variables can change run to run.
would be intersting.

I might have an rx-7 ready to go by rotorfest. I was just wondering though....why doesn't Rotorfest have it's own section in the "Rotary Owner Events" area of the forum? Seems big enough that it should get it's own section.

I hope I can make it. This means I would have to modify and rebuild my motor. Damn. Dont think it will happen. Ill try though.
