I have searched around but most of the shops listed like BPR and East Coast Rotary seem to be out of business already. Just looking for a shop nearby that knows the ins and outs of these cars. Been going to another shop for dyno tuning, they're not bad but I feel like they don't know rotaries too well. Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

if you guys are willing to take a short ride SMG944 does great work on rx7s. he specializes in fd's but does engine rebuilding and tuning on all rx7s. he's in cranston,ri.

 

I had contacted him twice. First time he had to cancel because he was busy and the second time we had a date set but he wasn't 100% sure if he coulddo it so I told him to text or call me the morning of to confirm but did not hear from him. I need to find someone who is somewhat more reliable. Thanks for the help anyways.

 

yea i can see how that happened he has 5-6 rx7s in the shop now lol. he is usually pretty reliable though im surprised he didnt get back to you.

 

He just rebuilt my engine, very stand up guy. i too am surprised that he didn't get back to you.
Just keep trying to get a hold of him. he's worth you time and effort

Synaptic 3 Performance in southern NH. One of the owners there has been working on RX7s for a long time. Both owners have a decent amount of track experience so they're knowledgable in setting cars up race cars also.

 

Thanks for all the help. Right now I have found a shop in Taunton that seems to know what they're doing. The owner has a 1st Gen that runs 9.70s.

His name is Javier. Just 2 brothers that love racing. One has a 85 RX7 running 9's and the other has a early 80's Corolla running 9's as well. Their shop is actually in Fall River and not Taunton. The dyno he uses is in Taunton sorry for the mix up.

Just a heads up. I called them and they do not dyno tune rotaries.

 

I did not know that but my car is stock so I dont need to do that anyway. But thier rotary mechanic does good work.
