Retard timing w/ high IAT - whats safe?
Final prep for rally this weekend and its HOT and will likely be very oven-y inside the cab at speed as well. Did some commuting this week in it and noticed extreme power loss at hot temperatures.

I drove it to work and around for some traffic use and once everything got a bit hot, it was a dog, felt down 30hp. I think the old tune that this MS2 was based on was setup a bit conservative because it was running a boosted engine. But this being an NA rotary this may be too much, also I am making home depot intake to grab cooler air about 2' away from the header rather being right above it.

finding cooler air is a better idea!
i guess best power timing, minus 1-2 degrees would be ok. ideally you'd maybe try running it lean, with slightly reduced timing vs same timing and slightly rich?
depending on the power level you may not really need to do anything

changed the setting to 1-5 degrees depending on the temp.
power level is about 200crank.
