Sublime in Omaha

I was wondering if anyone knows the number to sublime in omaha, i know a guy in fremont, he has a turbo'd envoy and we went to the dyno there, i believe it was sublime, and they said that they do work on rx-7s maybe they can become my mechanic and parts installer.

Mmmm. A couple of years ago a guy at Sublime told me that they really don't like working on rotary specific issues. Though he was more than happy to fix my 5th gear synchro problem (which I ended up fixing myself with some help from a friend).
You might also try Transonic. I've never dealt with them, but IIRC, someone just had some extensive work done on an FD there.

No problem, I enjoyed it. A few years in college and you'll be making so much money you'll have two.

I'm not badmouthing Transonic, but they are more of a "we'll bolt on your parts" place then a true speed shop. The FD owner in Omaha, having his car worked on was posting in the single turbo forum about his frustrations with them over work not being drug out and not gettingdone or some such thing.

Again, not badmouthing Transonic, but I've been there plenty of times, talked with the owner and employees and essentially know what they are not...

I usually am not one to bring up old topics, but I was searching Omaha and I came across this one. First off sublime knows a little about the 3rd gen. But I am holding a grudge with that shop. Back in 1999 I took my motor there for a rebuild the owner at the time told me that he would have to done in a week. So I gave him a 1000.00 deposit and a week later came. I call the shop and find out the shop had changed its name from a.s.p. to sublime and the original owner was no longer with the company. So I asked for my money back and they convinced me that the new owner mike could do the work. So 4 months go by. I ended up buying a rebuild kit myself and they added 1,100 to the bill. So total build cost 3,800.00. So I refuse to use that shop. Then there is transonic. Transonic is owned by a former good friend of mine Brandon most. I was hesitant to let home work on my car but he was a friend so I have like ok he can build me a v-mount how hard could that is. So he asked for 3000.00 to order parts radiator, intercooler, piping and a few other things I wanted to add also. 8 months go by and he never ordered a single part. I am currently in a lawsuit with the shop. So I ended up doing all the work myself and the car is being tuned at Gotham racing in Texas. Which it has been there for 4 weeks. So let’s see how this one turns out.

I'm also interested in how it goes with GOTHAM. Please PM me or, if your comfortable, post your experience with them.

so far gotham is great. they were more them helpful when i first contacted them. i wrote Gotham an email saying i needed some work done to my car. the next day alex called me and wanted to know everything about that car and what needed to be done. when i got the car to texas alex (shop owner) gave me a tour of the shop and also showed me a few of the projects they are working on. Yesterday i got an email saying that they have started a punch sheet for the car and hopefully work will get started soon.
