Looking for a rotary shop/tuner central IL

hey guys I am looking for a shop that works with rotaries and does tunes if need be in the central IL area. I keep seeing people say places in Chicago/St. Louis/Indiana/Kentucky but from where I am at those are long drive places to drive/haul the fc to. if I need a tune I wouldn't mind driving to stl but to get major motor work I would prefer a closer shop. if that's the case am I stuck using and hoping the local Mazda/Nissan shop would suffice?

Since you didn't say specifically where you live, Banzai Racing is in Pierceton IN. And I would NOT rely on the local dealership for engine work. Their techs likely aren't old enough to ever looked under the hood of a S4-S6 rotary, let alone work on them.

he's bone stock and probably means "tune up", but kids these days think anything can be "tuned". i see the term "tune" misused a lot lately, even though they are massively different things. be easier if there was a less ambiguous term for making ECU adjustments.

adjust TPS, check timing, replace plugs+wires, oil change, fuel filter, decarb, and check the air filter. not rocket science and most anyone can do those things.

^I missed his sig earlier. :icon_tup:
Since it's "barely running", just get a copy of the FSM and start with plugs and wires. Fuel filter and fluid changes. Depending on how things improve, maybe some serious fuel system cleaner or pull the injectors and have them cleaned. Don't need a 'Tuner' for those things. I guess any trusted shop (which for me isn't a dealership) could do it if the OP isn't able or willing. And from the transmission back it's just like any other car.

I would highly reccomend Elite Rotary, it is worth the trip/tow. They know there stuff, and are great people to work with!
