water temp problem on laptop
hey there iam in the process of installing my microtech and i pluged my laptop in to the ECU to read the water temp if it was working rite and it works fine on the dash but on the laptop it reads all over the place jumps from -0 rite up to the red and in between never get a steady reading from it.... iam using the stock 13b non turbo water temp sensor does any one know why its doing this ive got the microtech pluged in to the sensor and the dash gauge is link in with the purple wire on the ecu plz help its got me stuffed .....
yer i thort that to so i ran a brand new piece of wire from the microtech and it still does it lol..... just thort its a lil strange that the laptop temp plays up but the dash one wroks fine strange hope some one can help me out
ok on that note witch temp sensor do i use for the microtech cause myn has one in the block as well at the one on the water spout like you say iam use both with brand new plugs but i still keep getting the same thing on the lap top
rito will do and yeah the one on the block is just a bullet terminal thats it and uses the engine as the ground ill unwire the dash and just try the microtech hooked up to the one on the water pump housing

i fixed the problem lol i unhooked the dash one and used the one on the block for that and than used the one on the water housing for my microtech works fine

lol yer so i found out today lol didnt reali think bout it also on the note about the temp and coolent the buzzer for low water will the be efected by usen the microtech or is it on a diffrent loom to the ecu harness i take out ???

The low water level sensor is on the top of the rad. It's part of the front harness.
The ECT on the water pump housing is on the emissions harness.
The water temp sensor (for the gauge) is on the rear iron, also in the emissions harness.
