Very inaccurate map sensor readings..

I run a Lt4/Mt4 and the problem im having is very inaccurate map sensor readings. The engine can be off and the ignition can be on and the computer shows 5psi. I took my car to the track about 3 wks ago... i was running 11psi but eh computer was reading 25psi which made it run crazy rich(bogging, misfiring etc...).

I sent the computer back to microtech(AUS) so they can check it and all came back well, they said for me to check my wiring. I went over the wiring for the map sensor about 10x and all is well. I even replaced the map sensor and same exact **** is happending.

Im to the point where if theres anyone Close to MD,PA,NJ and have a little time on there hands or is travling my way i'll pay someone whose familiar with the microtech to check over it and tell me whats wrong.

Would tps calibration have anything to do with this? Its calibrated right, but im to the point where im willing to try whatever to fix it.

i dont have any part numbers handy,

you have a 2 bar and your suppose to have a 3 bar,

no it wont be accurate, 2 bar only reads to 14.7psi and 3 bar to 29.4psi

ok dale.. but would that make in inaccurate at idel and even when the hey is on engine off read 5psi.?

if its a 2bar and not a 3bar then it would be inaccurate only after 14.5psi?

meaning anything under 14.5psi it would read fine and be dead nuts?

think about it

0-5v sensor,

one is calabrated to read from -30 to 14.7psi
one is calabrated to read from -30 to 29.4psi

of couse it will be out and wont read correctly...

you have the wrong sensor, get a GM 3 bar, same as what a haltec uses and it will be fine

Well 10sec Rx7, I must say you are right, i did a little searching and i found out i have a ******* 2bar map sensor instead of a 3bar. Heres the site i found to help people identify there map sensors http://www.robietherobot.com/Storm/mapsensor.htm

Im gonna get a 3bar from GM tomorrow and hopefully that fixes the inaccuracy. Im sure it will since i have the wrong sensor
