Using MT Dash an Laptop Simultaneously??

Has anyone ever tried that? Maybe by using a serial cable splitter before the dongle?

I want to use the dash for viewing the current data and the warning lights while still being able to tune etc view the software.

I'd imagine no.

Serial communication is bi-directional. It MIGHT work for display on two different devices if you cut the TX from one of the devices. Or MAYBE if you cut the TX line from the dash and only allow the laptop to send to the ECU.

But that might freak the display out.

Been there done that the display will scramble. I was hoping to do exactly what you were describing.
