tune above 10psi

Ok so you guys have been a huge help so far so i thought i would try again..

My turbo has been played with a ruined.. (to4 front cover without changing wheels or anything) so it doesnt hold boost at rpm well at all so currently it will hit 9 psi and come down to around 7 but i would rather 12-13 psi and come down to 7 a it pulls alot harder.

So 2 plans of attack.. would upgrading wheels in stock s5 turbo work or better off with standard front cover on turbo would be happy with over 10psi at redline. not using standard wastegate got 44mm Tial.

Problem:

Tuner didnt tune above 10 psi so above that it leans out... which is stupid because boost cut is 16psi so if something failed and freeboosted it would lean out. so need to know how to adjust map for that boost

Engine is extend port. 500hp Bosch pump 550/660 injectors, full 3inch exhaust etc.

haha seems obvious now in first map..goes flat

Spannersrx7 10-21-08 10:52 PM

i mean second lol

rx72c 10-22-08 07:02 AM

Load map is fine. Timing map is fine. And so is your idle map.

Spannersrx7 10-22-08 11:18 PM

well how come it leans out as soon as i go above 10psi, it never used to

BluRR 10-23-08 07:26 AM

you can try pulling up the 14psi value up some more and try it again...just keep pulling up the values until you stop leaning out. If you find you have maxed it out and you still going lean..then you have a fuel delivery problem..your pump isnt flowing enough

rx72c 10-23-08 04:08 PM

Richen up the 14psi map.
And see if it helps.

If it dosnt get any richer, then either your injectors or your fuel pump are maxed out or possibly both.

lol shit didnt even realise.
hahahaha

Spannersrx7 10-24-08 01:08 AM

on the load map?

rx72c 10-24-08 01:53 AM

Yes the load map.

Spannersrx7 10-29-08 03:51 AM

ok changed the map and no more lean out actually goes rich as so have heaps of fuel so will take a little out.. gonna keep a/f round 11? and sometimes it stutters a bit but that may be the voltage? alt belt pretty loose havent tightned up yet a was only on 12.5 volts.. but a couple runs up to 6.5k rpm and went smooth as just real rich

BluRR 10-29-08 09:00 PM

yeah...if its rich pull out some..you can aim for 11.5 AFR when you on boost

Spannersrx7 10-30-08 12:26 AM

alrite will give that a go tonight

Spannersrx7 10-30-08 03:03 AM

ok is there anything wrong with having it run a bit rich apart from not as much power?? and it has a misfire at around 3500 rpm in 3rd in 4th under full load

rx72c 10-30-08 05:35 AM

what does the missfire show up as on the afr meter.
nothing wrong with rich. how rich is it though?

Spannersrx7 10-30-08 11:22 PM

misfire jumps to lean a couple times then comes right.. could be something to do with sencondary injecters.. the correct phrase i cant think of now

rx72c 10-31-08 12:32 AM

at what load point is it doing it at?
what are you staging settings?
show us your staging settings.

Spannersrx7 12-09-08 02:15 AM

how do i find my staging settings

rx72c 12-09-08 06:25 AM

go the option menu

look opt_revstg
opt_mapstg

and opt stg%

Spannersrx7 12-15-08 02:57 AM

will get those values in a sec.. also i have an air leak and its really annoying.. can i pump more fuel in for starting etc. as it will run nice when warm just have to have the idle up but won't run at all cold because its going too lean

rx72c 12-15-08 06:34 PM

Water map . thats were you compensate for it when its cold. add fuel in that map.
