Need help stabilizing car.......

Im having a pretty tough time getting the car going.

Its set with a base map for this FC but it seems like nothings working.

When we start the car, it runs completely rich, smoking quite a bit. So altering the idle map does nothing.........

Altering the load map then produces results and the smoking stops after leaning it out quite a bit. After its leaned out it'll sustain idle and hold but revving past 1600 cuts it out immediately and the engine stalls.

Trying to restart the car yields no success and the load map needs to be richened back up for it to start.

Why am I having to go between two settings, one to start and one to sustain and then why is it cutting out at 1600rpm???

According to the microtech and from what I can tell the TPS is adjusted correctly but I have my suspensions. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.........

I have a question on this subject. I bought an LT8 used from fc3s.org. I think the basic setup has all been changed. From my understanding of the manual there should be a basic program that gets you up and running. Is there anyway to get this original program or maps from somewhere else. I can not even get my car to run at all. It will start and then die.

Where do you have the MAP sensor line connected to on the TB?

Map sensor line is connected to the bottom nipple on the set of three on the front side the UIM.

I've switched the load sensing settings over to TPS mode and the car runs better then it did before. I was able to get it home from the shop I was installing it at. It just runs very rich, is hard to start and completely bogs at over 3200, I believe because of the secondaries.

I just need to figure out why the load map is the one effecting idle and not the idle map and tinker with the basic settings to get it a little more driveable so I can get it to the dyno.

The only trigger that changes the ECU from using the load map v. the idle map is the TPS. If it's not set/calibrated then it will pull from the load map (because it thinks you have your foot on the pedal when this is in fact untrue).

Just a few ¢

When Microtech says "base map" they mean BASE MAP! Roughly pointing in the direction of GO.
