i've got an old BMW with a worked 3.5 piston engine, i know this is irrelevant to you guys but this was the only site that had some info on microtech ecu's.

So i'm running a Microtech Mt8 standalone computer managing fuel only, i've been having trouble getting it to run right. At the moment it starts fine, i can drive it but has some severe flat spots and jerks a lot. I noticed today that when i connect the laptop to the ecu, the RPM gauge on the laptop screen bounces around and flickers which is causing the injectors to fire all over the place. The computer thinks the engine is revving to 3000 when it's only idling. I've attached a video of what it's doing, if anyone can help me out here, that'd be really really appreciated!
