microtech not reading water temp

hi, the other day i start my car and i noticed it cranks a lot before it starts. this wasn't happening so i check on my microtech lt-8 and i see that the red light is blinking so i go in my laptop and notice that it isn't reading water temp. this is bad because the car has to get completely warmed up before i can drive it, and if i drive it and let it rest for a while is a damn pain in the *** to start it again. it stars but i have to let it warmed up again. what should i check??? can anyone tell me where's the water temp sensor on my car???

thanks
