Question Microtech MT-12 300$

I bought this off ebay.. Was it a good price? the item description was alittle skeptic but, i took my chances.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250258731615

what do you guys think?

i currently have an FB (i know, wrong forum)
the engine is fried..

should i buy a 6 port 13b engine or T2

The 13b engine would cost me 400$ with tranny.

the t2 engine will cost me about 1,000 with tranny as well.

What should i do.. I have to make choice, asap. lol

TII all the way. With a proper fuel system, you could run both regular gas and E85.

Wow, you are lost...

There is a Microtech section in here.
You might want to ask there about your Microtech specific question.

I think you're better off asking the 1st gen section about the engine swap questions.
None of the 13B's are drop in for your car, unless we're talking about a 6-port GSL-SE motor?

Either way, you're not going to get too many responses in here...

You can send the ECU back to Microtech in Oz to have them reconfigure it for a 13B. I think the cost is abotu $175. You'll also want to pick up a harness at the same time.

WHAT?! So Microtech knowingly makes an ECU with a locked configuration (something no other major standalone manufacturer does) and now refuses to program them to run other engines? Unbelievable.

Of course, what would I expect from a company who has been promising a software up which adds BASIC FUNCTIONALITY for the past 5 years...

as far as im aware if they now sell one tuned to lets say a RB26 it can not be changed like you could of done a few years ago. yeah it can be tuned for different RB26 set ups or maybe even RB25 or RB30 but thats it no more changing it to suit 13B or SR 20... too many people were doing it rather then buying new ECUs so they stopped it.. Thats what i was told when i called anyway
