I bought a microtech laptop adapter in an attempt to connect to the ecu. I used a usb mini to usb b cable (tried 2 different cables), my laptop recognized both of them, and I change the port properties to 19200 bits per second and other settings. The software would sit in the connecting screen then disconnect. I get no warning messages or logs. I've tried deleting and re downloading the drivers, and microtech software. I don't know if the issue is the adapter or the ecm, since I have no way to test either. Any advice would be helpful.
