ignore double post

Hi,

Can somebody please tell me why my LT8 is causing my Tacho to read only half the RPMs, The RPMs on the Microtech handset seems to be correct but my dash reads half of the handset RPMs until i reach 6000rpm which is reading 3000rpm on my dash it will suddenly jump to match whatever the real rpm is, so it reads half up to 3000rpm then jumps to 6000rpm. I hope this makes sense. I know its the LT8 because when i plug my old Mt8 back in its normal. I'm still using the same loom from my MT8 and just plugged the LT8 into it.

Cheers

Ray

Just don't drive your car below 6k rpms then. Simple fix

Could it be something related to the feed into the tachometer?

happens with a lot of aftermarket ems's. your tach is taking signal from one of your trailing coils which fire half as much as the leading, stock it was one singal coil with two posts and a switch for the trailing so it worked.

What I'm trying to say is, move your tach wire to a leading coil, problem solved.

I have the same problem, but i have a blue/white wire that runs from the Microtech to the tacho. Its not quite half rpms that, but the gauge reads about 1200 low

The stock tach reads off of the trailing coil from the factory.
