LT-8 better than E6K?

Well my local rotary performance shop has a few FDs with big turbos(one with a T78, other I'm not sure) and they both had E6Ks. Now the owners are paying him to take those out and install Microtechs. I know microtechs are cheaper, but I always thought that was for a reason...driveability. I talked to the owner of the shop and he loves the drivability. Anyone with experience with both? He is selling the LT-8 for like $850 or so I believe.

In my experience, the LT ECUs are very driveable on the street and the track, in N/A and turbo applications. Anyone who tells you otherwise either a) didn't have a good tune(r), or b) hasn't ever had personal experience with one.

I'm biased, so I'll shut up now and let others talk.

I have used both, but only the Microtech on my car personally. I LOVE the way my car drives and idles. If you have been at the BBQ in gainesville you could have seen it there. My car has no studders, bumps, surges ect. Drives 100% better than it did on the stock ECU.

One ECU is not neccesarrily better than the other. There are plenty of tradeoffs between the two. I chose the Microtech and I think that it works best for me for my money. You can argue better till the cows come home, but you will never get a true clear answer, its to opinion driven to have 1 answer when the ECU's are so closely matched

Ryde Or Die: You must be talking about Scott at Mazsport. My car is there now getting the swap from E6K to LT8. Hopefully, it will be done before the weekend since he's had it since last Friday!

BTW do you ever go to Gandy? I saw a bunch of 2nd gens there last week, but I didn't have my car so it was kinda weird. Anyways, we should have a Tampa Rx-7 meet soon!
