How to tune temp map??

OK, guys ive been trying to figure this out on my own for a while now, with no luck. Is there some easy way to tune for cold start enrichment?

I basically have to spray starter fluid any time its below 40*, and i cant find any systematic way to adjust my water_t map.

any ideas?

im assumin you have a handset.
these are the parameters i have:
CRANK
Temp
-25....72
-17....72
-9......72
-1......67
5.......62
11.....57
18.....50
24.....41
31.....31
38.....26
46.....20
60.....15
68.....5
82.....0

if this is what you got and it still dont start: turn your key off,
turn your key on until the microtech is on, use handset to go to the CRANK settings then go thru left 2 right until you see the setting with the star (*) beside it, that is the current air temp try adjusting more fuel in or out then try to start it
Let us kno how she goes!

looks like you are running the stock settings...or as close as i can tell from memory. yes i have tried all that...but it inst too effective since the car floods after a few unsuccesful tries.

thanks for the reply, tho

if it is flooding it is too rich, pull some fuel out

what plugs do you have in it??

patman Dec 6, 2004 09:09 PM

9s x4.

i just got a wideband to use for a while...i'll see if that helps any.

also, on a side note, i have a fuel cut switch, which doesnt help start it either.

yeah...i think its the hotter plugs. i'll throw some 7s back in and see what that does. I fired it up from cold with the wideband hooked up today...had a good ratio from ~40f all the way up. still ran like crap till it was warm.

if they're NGK's the 9's are actually colder... ngk does their heat ranges backwards in the numbers. so 7 is hotter than 9.
