Hand controller 9 pin connector

Has anyone every had a short in the 9 pin connector for the hand controller? It seems as if, mine has developed one. I first thought it was the cord, or at least hoped it was, hooked it up to the lap top, and it worked fine. Removed the board in the controller case, plug the cord into it, rub the back of it where the pins go through and it works. I'm sure it's fixable by any computer shop, was just wondering if anyone else had this issue.

No, not the case. I took it to a computer repair store and had them look at it. all the connections were good. I just sent it back. I emailed Jon, we discussed it, at this point thats the best option.
