Microtech Error 13 - type mismatch
Error 13 - type mismatch
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had this error (error 13 - Type mismatch) happen to them is so what did you do to fix it?
Am using their Laptop adapter USB dongle and their USB kit.
Laptop is a Dell M1530 with Windows 7 (if it maters).

You are running the Microtech serial dongle, right?
Typically this error happens when there is no communication with the ECU.
Make sure the USB port is set to the COM port you expect it to be.
Oh and I don't know off hand if the Microtech software works under Windows 7. If 64 bet, I'd guess no.

Yes am running the Microtech dongle.
And yes my Windows 7 is 64bit.
Everything is set properly in the COM port. I even tryed installing the drivers from their website rather then with the mini disk but it is still not working.
I got in touch with them and we are trying to fix the problem. They say its the first time something like this happen.

Just a search on this forum will turn up many people having the same problem. Don't believe anything Microtech says to you.
