check it out you guys....I've been procrastinating on getting this dyno sheet posted, mostly due to no scanner, but here are some crappy pictures:

That's killer. I'm doing something very similar in an FC and ti excites me to see those numbers. What kind of A/F are you running? or was it tuned by EGT and torque-curve?

Thanks. We tuned mostly by A/F and BSFC (brake specific fuel consumption) but we still kept an eye on the EGT's. 12.8 AFR was my target, but we found that with n/a you made pretty much the same power (+/- a few hp) as long as you stayed between 12.0-13.5...so in other words it was easy to tune.

MrDirt 11-11-05 10:31 AM

Wow! Those are some really impressive numbers! How big is the streetport that you are using?

cwsttu 11-11-05 03:11 PM

yes very nice numbers.... you run that thing at the track yet?

FD Racer 11-11-05 10:19 PM

Thanks you guys.
some more engine details:
12a side/center 4 port housings streetported with racing beat templates
gsl-se rotor housings
S5 high compression rotors
stock apex seals
50mm throttle body injection, 4 - 550cc injectors

Track? yup. This thing actually spends more time on the track than on the street!

cwsttu 11-11-05 10:27 PM

nice setup... so what do you run at the track... is it a 1/4 track or autocross

Infini IV 11-11-05 10:29 PM

As I recall, he goes to road course tracks, not 1/4 mile tracks ;) Come play with the big boys at Speedventures instead! SV is going to SOWS the week after Speedtrials.

yup...no 1/4 mile here....it's all about roadracing.
I have never been with SV...I cant see it being a big differance, why do you prefer it? SOWS is fun...I also go to Buttonwillow when I can. I won't be able to make that next event you mentioned....but I'm gonna try to make this one:

Not to speak lesser of one or the other, but in my experience with both groups, SpeedVentures events are more relaxed and it feels like the event is run under better control. Also, I feel like the pace of the cars I'm on the track with is greater than that of the most of the different classes/groups at Speedtrials. I felt like every lap was consistent in allowing me a good, clean lap. In the end, I felt like I was running with a bunch of friends with SpeedVentures. Oh yea! Theres an option to rent transponders! :D

Speedtrials gives me the feeling that I may be on the track with some potentially dangerous drivers... ? Many of the drivers with more powerful cars are not so willing to let you pass as well even if they may be holding you up on the corners, especially since they don't like to allow passing anywhere other than the straights. It was often hard for me to get consecutive good laps in due to traffic of some sort. I can't say it wasn't fun though, as any track time is always fun. One awesome thing about Speedtrials is that there is a VERY diverse choice of cars. You can see anything from a Honda Civic to a Ferrari 360. With SpeedVentures, there are a majority of S2000's and Z06's.

hmm. I see your point....I'm gonna have to go to an event soon. Btw, ST doesnt allow passengers anymore...do you know if SV does?

Is this flywheel hp or rear wheel hp?

Hi,

what timings are you running? Split? Please post an exel sheet or something like that with your ignition map!

Thanks, Iwan

Sorry, forgot about this post. Yea, SV allows passengers.. although probably not in the beginner/1st time group.

SV is having another SOWS event Dec. 9th I believe. I'd LOVE to see what your lap times are with your setup. Your car is just plain awesome :) I'd love to see it in person in action on the track.

here are some screen shots:

edit: btw, Since I'm n/a... I use none of the other timing correction maps...map, temp, etc..

Thanks. I might be able to make that event. They rent lap timers don't they?

Do you premix and if not, how did you fab up the MOP?

Hmm, I'm curious to know as well :)

FD Racer 11-18-05 10:58 PM

yeah I premix...1oz per gallon.
I don't even have an omp on there at all.
Fortunately I have a buddy who manages a motorcycle shop's parts dept.. So I get a really good deal on premix. I've been using Motul 600 2T 2-stroke oil for a while now and have had nothing to complain about...though I've been thinking about switching over to Motul 800 2T, their top of the line formula.

I'm new at this so forgive my ignorance, in the third screen shot you have a table of idle/load and vacuum/boost values. Since I'm no tuner, I had my LT10 tuned for me. My table only has the first IDLE and LOAD rows complete. Am I missing something?

Sounds like you are in normal mode....What you saw on that third shot is matrix mode. Do a search for matrix mode, Im sure a lot will come up.

buzz2 11-23-05 09:02 AM

I switched over to Matrix mode and the same table was displayed with only the first rows for IDLE and LOAD being displayed. Should this have been part of the base map installed by MT or is this something done in later tuning?

Thanks.

RUBY7 11-23-05 05:46 PM

Matrix is tuned on the laptop or the like, only after is it accessable through the handset.
