Microtech Anyone use the two step feature?
So according to the manual, in order to do a two step, i would have to hook up a 12v switch to the aux input. So does this mean that I would have to have some kind of switch turned on or button pushed in while im staging a launch, then after i release the clutch I would have to turn the switch off or release the button? Is there a way i can set it up so that when i launch the car the soft limiter turns off on its own? Or do I have to learn some finesse and deal with it. Maybe there is a way to deactivate the swithch when the tires are moving?

think about it, for most boxes to shift properly they need the power taken away from them and most of the time you lift off the throttle, when your off the throttle it dosent matter what the limit is set to

I keep my feet on the accel all the way through. Therefore it affects me when I shift. Although since I have a big laggy turbo, I guess the clutch switch makes sense.
Well I attempted to use this feature and i dont exactly see the point of it. It is a little misleading, unless its not working correctly. Now i set the inprevlim to 3500 and connected a 12v source to a button and then to the aux input wire. Now when i push the button in and give it gas, the revs still go over 3500 but when it does it feels like crap and backfires. I thought the point of this was to have a second rev limiter for launching the car so you can build boost or something. I was expecting the revs to not exceed the set point. I dont mind the back firing but but i dont want the revs to go over where i want them. Otherwise this isnt a real two step. Maybe i have this incorrect or something. Can anyone chime in and give me some feedback.

Dale how well does it work?
Basically you have the switch on, launch then switch it off?

A little late, but just to chime in, from the Manual it states that RevCut, cut's all fuel (all injectors), not ignition, while revlim just cuts off a bank of injectors.
I want to know this as well. According to the manual the 2-step feature uses fuel cut. Does it cut fuel one cylinder at a time?
Also, is there a possibilty to send the ecu back so Microtech can change it to ign cut?

Has anybody else done this recently. I want to try this, this weekend and need to know if its worth it? Or should i just buy a two step feature from MSD sense i already have the 6al.
in the manual it says: "Connect a +12v switch to the Aux Input, and set a limit figure in the InpRPMlim screen and use the InpTiming screen to retard the timing slightly: when the button is pressed, the engine will be limited to this RPM figure, and the timing to retarded (to prevent detonation). Releasing the button will deactivate the rev limiter and return the timing to its normal value, allowing the engine to instantly produce full power. This way you can very easily use the Aux Input to set up a basic "two step"
Doesnt say you need to use the hard or soft cut rem limiter like everyone else says?

Also these are the input functions:
InpRPMlim: This function is a Rev limiter that works only when the +12v Aux Input is activated
InpAIRadd: Opens the cold air bypass valve (if fitted) by the amount specified in this screen whenever the Aux Input is activated
InpEnrich: Specifies the amount of additional fuel you wish to add to the mixture when the Aux Input is activated.
InpTiming: Allows for an adjustment to the timing curve when the Aux Input is activated.
