anyone with 550cc prim and 1600cc secondaries?
I would like to know how you guys set up your staging for it to have a good idle and smooth transition when boost kicks in...
thanks |
Most cars with 550cc primaries & 1600cc secondaries will need to be up around the 95% mark in the % stage.Once you change to a setting like that you will then have to go back & take out fuel in the lower load points to compensate.
copied from the sticky up top. |
95% stage, 0% vacuum at 3500RPM.
|
thanks all for the input , im still trying to understand the sticky thread =)

I canīt understand why you use 1600cc injectors at all...
How many of you have over 600hp engines? The 1600cc are just harder to fine tune! Use the formula: (hp x 0,65 / 4) x 10,5)) = what you need... |
1600's are only in the secondaries... Remember, most rotaries run a staged injection setup.
BTW, since we are not piston engines, 550/1600 combo will only support ~450bhp on a 13bt at 80-85% duty cycles ;) |
nice call infini....
well for me primarily the new 1600 bosch injectors are dirt cheap for me heheheh.... so i used it on my setup 680cc r/c engineering primaries and 1600cc secondaries bosch..... anyone else have set up like this for a smooth transition? .....im still waiting on my plx wideband.... its been forever |

Im going to 550cc primaries tho, cuz my cosmo engine has a weird primary rail and weird looken injectors. (the primary rail off an fc won't work w/o fab work) The secondary I can just use off my tii. |
why is 680 / 1600 bad?
|
i dont think anyone ever said they were bad.
|
I got the 680/1680 combo with like 98% stage 3K rpms and 00"hg.
|
I couldnt get a good transition staging at 00hg, I had to do mine at 2psi, the primaries arent even close to maxing out either. 95% stage and i believe 2500rpms, although it never makes boost that fast anyways.
|
What kind of turbo are you running, at how much boost? Is your engine street ported?
How are you setting up the timing? |
i couldnt get a nice staging at vacuum points either , i had mine on 6psi.....will see what it does if i put it lower
|
i think 6psi is too high man. 0-3 i think is ideal.
|
Whatever you stage it at, you want to have as smooth and gradual a load map at optimum AFR's as is possible.
|
Your not goin to get a smooth transition because of the large gap between the 550 and 1600 injector, unless your running a Tec3 where you can bring the injector on by percentage.
|
i had a smooth transaction with 680 and 1600's?
|
well mine is smooth at 6psi....shall fine tune it more to bring it down to 3psi as mentioned by rexryder and see how it goes.

I have 550 pris and 1600 secs and staged as follows:
90% 3500 00"hg I would say the transition is pretty smooth. |

I think alot depends on how picky someones ass is. There are people out there who want there car to ride and drive like a cadillac or something with absolutley no little nothing hiccups. Personally i think the transition can be plenty smooth with the microtech, especially in matrix mode.
