a single 6al only hooks up to your leading plugs, so your secondaries would still fire as normal during the two-step. I'm not sure if cutting leading is enough to keep the revs from coming up and creating boost.

Its enough to create boost. Yes it works on any MSD 6AL. You should have the two holes that the pills plugs into.
