2 Step on LTX12S

Hello , I have a LTX12S and I have been reading about the 2step/launch control and on some MT ecu it cuts fuel instead of ignition but not sure on which ones and I would like to know if it cuts ignition instead of fuel on my particular ECU .

where are all the MicroTech Guru's at ? Help PPL

rx72c 12-19-08 07:02 AM

It depends on what the ecu was originally programmed for.
Im pretty sure their is an option to change it, i will check my books tonight and post back.

13BT_Starlet 12-19-08 07:36 AM

Ok I thank you , because in the manual i don't say and I keep hearing ppl say the only cut fuel and others say ingnition .

rx72c 12-19-08 05:02 PM

The microtech 2 step is very basic.
It is not an igniton cut or a fuel cut as far as i can see.

When you activate the "2 step"

You can dump a shitload of fuel and retard a heap of timing and also put in a rev cut all on the one input, all of which would bring boost up and this would be a primitive 2 step.

I hope this clears things up for you a little.

Also as far as i can see the revcut is a fuel cut and not an igniton cut.
Id dare say that if you wanted an igniton cut you had to request it on order.

I have gathered from doing a quick read in the advanced microtech manual next time i am down at microtech i will ask and see what the verdict is on it 100%

Thanks Alot rx72c , keep me posted after the microtech visit .

Quick question is the lt10 come with a 2 Step and if those is it easy to hook it up what would I need?

13BT_Starlet 12-23-08 05:47 PM

If I'm not mistaking all LT's have this option , its the blue/red the Aux input wire hook it to a push switch with 12v and set up the rpm, timing, fuel you desire on screen30 under the Revlim option.

Another question does the OMP still work with a Microtech?

rx72c 12-29-08 03:57 PM

No it does not.

jacoolv6 12-30-08 10:18 AM

Hey rx72c
What would be a good premix ratio with the omp remove?

rx72c 12-30-08 04:25 PM

100:1

jacoolv6 12-30-08 05:20 PM

That like 1oz to 1 gallon?

rx72c 12-31-08 01:09 AM

not use to american terms

So for a 45l tank

put 450ml of 2 stroke.

BluRR 12-31-08 10:10 AM

Anybody successfuully use the 2 step feature here? What were the parameters you used? What redline? How much timing you pulled? and How much gas you added? What kind of boost did it net you at the launch?

rx72c 12-31-08 04:39 PM

On low hp cars i have tried it and it dosnt work very well.

On high hp cars it tends to leave you with a front plate in many pieces.

BluRR 01-01-09 12:03 PM

Why? Do you think its something you are not doing right? Not enough fuel..not enough timing retard?

rx72c 01-01-09 04:21 PM

It could be.
I have tried various combinations and nearly all the time, after a few uses of it the plate is shattered.
ANd i have seen various other big name shops end up with the same problem, and change the ecu to motec and not have any problems. I am in the process of changing my car over to motec to see if i can stop cracking front plates.

BluRR 01-04-09 08:40 PM

I guess I better scratch that off my "Things to do List" for now...

Why not try an MSD ignition with a 2step module. I have one and it brings up the boost at launch. And from what RX72c says, i used the Microtech revlim and was not happy with it.

rx72c 01-05-09 06:08 AM

The MSD 2 step works well from what i have heard but i dont like their ignition boxes for other reasons.

BluRR 01-05-09 04:44 PM

I have a single MSD 6AL box

Whats the reason you don'tcarefor them ? did you have one fail on you ? Alot of the fast cars in PR and USA are running them on there rotary's . I see them using the DIS2 & DIS4 .

myfc3s 01-06-09 07:24 PM

try it

You Should try it bro, purchase one on ebay for like 40-50 dollars and hook it up.
At first i was not sure what the outcome was, but as soon as i installed one on my 6AL...instant boost on high rev.:)

BluRR 01-06-09 09:19 PM

It can work with a single 6AL box?
