I have some friends at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and I'm thinking about making the 7 hour trip in my CYM. You still in the area? Is there any parts stores in town or in Denver that you'd recommend? I need to get rid of this Frisbee in between my legs and try out some bucket seats, but we don't have anything close to that down here in NM. What about tuners in the area? Thanks a ton man!!
I am the original owner of my 1981 RX-7 GS. Has just over 75,000km (about 45,000 miles) with collector plates. All original, including Mazda cassette deck.
Curious if anyone knows how to repair the hatch release rocker switch. A Mazda dealer
broke mine and denied responsibility. That switch is all wobbly which seems strange. Likely have to remove part of dash to access switch. Hoping to replace inside part of switch and
keep the original 'face' with the logo.
Also, seems impossible to find good 13 inch tires. Old BF Goodrich Comp TA's were
awesome.
Thanks,
Barry
Werd. Spirited drives are always good. Unfortunately most if the sweet passes around here are soon to be closed for the winter. If I end up making down to the springs I will let you know. Hit me up when ever you do a rotary meet/drive or what ever.
First thing I can say is stay away from the dealer, most of the time they don't know anything and will end up doing more damage than fixing. See if there are any owners in your area that can help you with the car, hopefully people that are already knowledgeable. You'll get much better help from other enthusiasts than the stealership. Also start doing a lot of research on here and other rotary forums, there is a wealth of information out there. Do you have any kind of maintenance background, do you like working on cars? PM me if you want.
