Has anyone successfully installed a MS3 PRo?

Ok, so as the title states, has anyone successfully installed a MS3 PRo and tuned it? I'm generally interested in the settings that are unknown to me. I have read Aaron Cakes write-up on the MS1&2, but there are many more settings. Anyone???

I've only heard about one more MS3-Pro on a rotary besides mine. Some quick searching turned up a few threads of his:

MS3X Pro Questions before purchasing it today - RX7Club.com
Format Issue with New MS PRO3 Unit - RX7Club.com
MSQ for MS3-PRO - RX7Club.com

A username search would turn up more but I believe his is running great.

My install hasn't run yet as it's a small part to a much larger project. I'd consider it successful because I had the car "running" just fine in test mode. Injectors, spark, CAS spinning (on a drill), etc.

You may or may not have seen video below. It covers the MegaSquirt MS3-Pro install on my '76 Cosmo from start to finish. Everything is shown including making up the ECU/fuse/relay panel, laying out the harnesses, making all the connections, proper soldering and crimping technique, using WeatherPack connectors and finally firing the whole system up in test mode to verify it all works. Wiring up an MS3-Pro is basically the same as an MS3X, the only difference being that MS3-Pro uses more generic names for some of the wires. This video is a great overview of the process of installing any standalone and should answer a number of questions for the standalone beginner.

My writeup is a little out of date but I am working on it right now to update it for MS3X and MS3-Pro. It is a load of work to do so, thus I can't exactly say when it will be ready.

Thanks Aaron, I've installed about a dozen other standalone ecu's on rx's and piston cars, but this ecu's settings are a bit puzzling(to me). There is another guy by the name Logan, but he seems to be unwilling to give any info. I have everything ready ecu-wise, but just not sure about the ignition & fuel & general settings.

Same setting as MS3X which are documented on the DIYAutoTune site. The only real difference software wise is that some I/O on the MS3-Pro are given more generic names. Instead of "boost" the output is "high current 3", for example.

If you've installed any other standalone then an MS3-Pro should be easy.

The MS3-Pro has far better VR conditioners than the V3.57/V3 board so it's a great choice for the rotary.

I have my MS3-Pro sitting in my office and have figured out my entire wiring pinout for my build, but am holding off on posting any real information until I have the car up and running with it. I'm sure I have overlooked something, so I don't want to mislead anyone.

Hi There

I installed the MS3 Pro in my race car at the start of this racing season and it performed better than I expected. Follow Arron's directions and it will work out fine.

Good Luck
