Mazda RX-7 1986 - 2002
Description:

I have a set of rare 17” Racing Beat JDM wheels originally built for the RX-7 FD. They should also fit the FC.

They are 17" x 8" +35 (Front) and 17" x 9" +35 (Rear)

The bolt pattern is 5x114.3. Very similar design to the wheels on the $1M+ Jaguar XJR-15.

The wheels will need to be rebuilt due to oxidation and peeling paint, but they are rare and period correct. One of the center caps is missing. Tires are old 235/45/17 and 265/40/17 and need to be replaced. I have the original invoice of $3,243 from the first owner of my car. They were ordered from Mackin Industries at the end of 1994.

Located in Middletown, NY 10940 (1.5 hours from NYC) or they can be shipped at the buyer’s expense.

Do you happen to know what the offsets are? Located semi-locally in CT.

They are 17"x8" +35 and 17"x9" +35 according to my paperwork. Send me a message if you want to drive out and take a look.

Not the same wheels obviously, but here's what 17x8 and 9 +35 looks like on a stock bodied FC. My tires were 235/40 and 255/40 BFGs. Good luck with the sale!

OG indeed.

Thank you for the reference photo! Looks like they fit perfectly on an FC. I updated the ad accordingly.

I never made this connection before! I actually had a set of the LSRs myself, and like the Jag my center caps were actually two different colors. Red and blue. Interesting for sure.

I have these wheels on my car, they are GREAT early JDM wheels. They were designed specifically for the FD RX-7, they fit perfectly with no rubbing. They are SUPER rare, I think I only know of 2 other sets in the country.

They are real deal 3-piece wheels so if you want to take them apart to refinish it can be done.

GLWS!

Thanks guys! Racing Beat pushed the boundaries of the rotary engine and actually raced and set land speed records. They drove an RX-4 to 160 mph and founder, Jim Mederer, drove the FD RX-7 to a record setting 242 mph. The push car featured these wheels, which are based on the white race car's wheels.
