I have a 94 CW with 46k miles that’s an oem plus build if you will. It’s not finished but I’ve been toying with the idea of selling. I don’t have any space for it once I moved to my new house.
Here is a low side reference point. This was watched closely the RHD community up here. May bring more Canada based RHD into the market.

Pm me some details, I've got a line and some money tied up importing a JDM but may still be interested.

It's all personal preference for many different reasons. I personally like the plastics of the 94+ better and they dont crumble as easily as the 93 plastics do. Sway bars are easily replaced, plastics are not. Ideally a 95 would be the best because it came with r134a refridgerant from the factory (I used my last r12 bottles years ago) and doing the conversion will yield less than proper cooling from an r12 based system. I live in Florida so this is important to me. I've taken the route of looking heavily into JDM for a few reasons, this being one of them since they converted to r143a earlier than USDM did. I'm not looking for a museum piece or a collector car. I want to enjoy driving the well balanced car mazda designed sequentials and all.
I'm fine with some non oem, just not looking for LS swaps or single conversions. Not interested in gawdy body kits. 99 spec upgrades would be a plus. Main thing is clean body, stock twin setup. Plan to only have basic upgrades such as Intake, exhaust (with cat), SMIC upgrade and any reliability things along the way. Just a balanced and enjoyable car do drive, been down the big single route and have something in the garage to satisfy that urg when it pops up.
I'm asking $50k for my 94 R2 before I clean it up and sell it for more. It will be detailed after it stops raining this week and I'll have more photos. If you're interested, please PM me and I'll send what I have for now.
I'd think you'd better look into that. Cansdian used cars are shipped regularly intop the United States for resale.
Either it is a peculiarity of New Brunswick law, or a misunderstanding.
In regards to Canada, is the rule not 15 years?
Seems it is 15 years into Canada, but still 25 years from Canada to the US.
But that may need checking.

I've been working with several importers and they all say its easier and safer to just buy and ship from japan even if its a longer wait due to shipping. They have been cracking down even harder lately on these cars and the ones found here illegally typically have their VINs blacklisted so it can't be registered anywhere in the states anymore and become race/show cars. In the few instances I've known or heard of them being seized, they are typically auctioned off and are required to be shipped out of the United States and cannot be shipped to an adjacent country like Canada or Mexico. I only personally know of one person to have had a car seized, oddly enough he had 3 Grey market cars and they only seized one and the other two got blacklisted.
Vehicles 15 years old or older from the month of manufacture can be brought into Canada. Without modifying the car or qualifying as substantially similar or under the sub-500 vehicle production Show or Display exemption, vehicles must be 25 years from the month of manufacture before they can be brought into the U.S.
I've spoken to a few importers about it. They are pretty hesitant on importing an already imported JDM vehicle from canada to the u.s. Something about needing every bit of the paper trail from the initial importation including the manufactures certificate of origin (I assume original country of origin) and all port and customs paperwork. If you don't have everything I guess the NHTSA is hard on JDM cars from adjacent bordered countries like Mexico and Canada. You can gray market register and title the car in states like Florida but without the proper paperwork you won't be able to have it fully legalized.

But the risks of getting things wrong seem to be quite high.
We do have FD in Canada that are LHD and not JDM, by the way.
So hopefully there would be less concern with importing those.
