You guys are something else. Its just a civic. EXACTLY. A econobox car with a SINGLE cam motor with a turbo running 11s. Um thats pretty impressive if you ask me.

Any news on when that episode will be on?

Exactly how fast is YOUR car? :squint:

WTF? ARe you serious? This, coming from the guy who is not even smart enough to have a driver's license, or insurance, or registration? LAst year, you were totally prepared to handle the consequences of your decisions, and now you are broke up to your ass all day long....so hey--how do ya like taking the taxicab?? :rlaugh:

Yeah, champ--a civic that runs 11's is even more impressive than a sports car that runs 11's--a performance car at least has a bit of a head start to being fast.....at the end of the day, it is faster than anything YOU drive--no, wait, you dont even own a car anymore, do you? The state took it away.... :fawk:

snowball 01-15-06 04:12 PM

I for one would love to have a pink SOHC civic that was that fast. destroy many a mans ego.

man a 11sec SOHC? hahah...props.

benhart21 01-15-06 05:31 PM

Isn't Dave Gibson the guy that runs FC3S.org? Vista, CA is right down the road from me, about 10 minutes. Maybe I should go check it out.

SLOASFK 01-15-06 05:32 PM

dude you smoked up a chipmunk...your the fuckin man. Did he fuck up the rotation or was he good with it?

benhart21 01-15-06 06:11 PM

I can't take credit for it, I dunno who took that pic

SLOASFK 01-15-06 06:13 PM

damn...that was so badass too...thats alright. toke hard lil guy!

Johny zoom 01-15-06 06:26 PM

Please tell us when tis will air.

reboot 01-15-06 07:06 PM

It will air on wed's but I'm not sure when. It should be awhile though...
I am VERY impressed with Full-race's SOHC turbo. Breaking 11.2 on its first run is no joke. Its also on STOCK SLEEVES! They do also have a 800+whp DOHC civic which pegged the Dynapak they had. But they decided to bring out the SOHC out to have some fun. To me, it is def. not "just a civic", you should open your mind up a little more. They put a lot of work into that car. I know plently of civics that goes fast and saves gas. Mine for example, I have all motor built LS/Vtec rev'n to 8500 and I still get 240MPG on a ~9gal tank. Oh and its my daily beater doing 12's all day.

Great job to Full-race and for being so cool for just thinking "that was fun".
Great job to Speed Machines for building such a nice drag car. I wonder what they're going to do with the pinky now? :)

I had a '92 Civic hatch w/ a GSR swap and Type-R valvetrain and was running 13s all day. And I got more than 28mpg and honda reliability. This is using nothing but OEM parts and 14" econotires. Then one night when I was walking toward my car after getting out of a movie, I saw my car drive away from me. Those bastards. I love hondas and its my roots, but thats one reason why I would not get another one until I could make sure they are much harder to steal

I currently own a civic actually. It does everything a civic should do: It goes 65mph and gets ~40mpg. :)

In fact, I'm considering modifying it... to get better gas mileage. That's what a civic is for. Modifying a civic for speed is like modifying your Lamborghini Diablo in the pursuit of fuel economy... it's just not the point, and while it is perhaps interesting as a technical exercise, it's utterly pointless in practice.

EL5Letra 01-15-06 11:37 PM

uhm..single cams running 11's...puerto ricans down here have been doing that for years with their 3tc turbo setups..they get down to 10's....so yeah i to am not impressed with the civic.atleast the corolla is rwd...

The season starts next month, but we don't know when it will air just yet. Once they tell me, I will post results. That pink civic has alot of cash worth of parts in it. Even though I own part of Speed Machine, we do other things than rotary. Rotary is what I do, but my partner Matt, who drove my car this weekend, has a Honda history. My mechanic John has owned an FC, FD, CRX, AE86, and now is the driver of our newly aquired pink (soon to be flat black rattle can) Civic. John ran the NHRA sportsman class FWD last year and placed 7th in the country, so we are going to build it for him to race, and us to advertise on. As for my car, that is the first time it has run in 2 years basically. I had never driven it with the current setup until we won, and Matt drove the Civic bck to our pit and I drove my car through 1 2 and 3rd down the track back to the pits. It is FAST so I am going to do some more stuff to it, and run it :D

Their civic was running 28PSI, an our car ran 12.7psi max, which they wanted to see after the race because they didn't believe me. The last race they had a 4 car head start, and we beat them by at least 5 cars according to our spotter at the finish line. They were also on 24.5" slicks, and we were on drag radials. We had a great time, and thanks to all the guys that were at the track who came over and showed support for the lone rotary!

This is the first import vs import, and the rotary took home the bacon...

mcnannay 01-16-06 02:22 AM

thats awesome, i can't wait to see it in action, ill keep checking speed for this episode. It sounds like the seven destroyed this civic, I have some friends to tell about this, can't wait to rub in the rotary victory.

seven samurai 01-16-06 02:32 AM

It's not really how fast the car is on that show... A lot has to do with the negotiations or at least the episode I caught. They negotiate car lengths so if you got a slow car you negotiate for a large head start or handicap.

So you drove the FC?

Wow... That's so cool. The Civic runs 11's? And you beat it THAT bad, with 4 cars, less than 1/2 the boost and worse tires.  :yum:

The 7 can't lose... Seriously. :bigthumb:
