My FD pulls SRT10 .. 3 times

The day I got my car, I drive back from Dallas on IH35. Out of the 4 or 5 guys that wanted to see what the FD had, the new SRT10 was the most memorable.

There was a line of tricked out trucks all together. The obvious flagship was a red SRT10 (big *** dodge with a viper motor) I didn't even know what is was until I saw the "SRT10 viper" on the tailgate.

We got side by side and fell back to make some room in traffic.

Did 3 pulls at roughly 50mph rolling. First one he pulled me since I was in 4th. We fell back and went again, this time I dropped it another gear and started at higher rpm as I wasn't used to the tranny yet. The second go, I pulled almost an entire car length before letting off due to cars ahead. Mind you I was new to the FD so I was just learning. The last pull we started a little faster, I put it in 3rd and popped the clutch so damn hard that the back end SLAMMED down like a marshmallow (450lb rear springs on 4/5 stiff tokicos) and the hook-up was great. I pulled 2 1/2 car lengths that last run.

Needless to say, it was a VERY fulfilling drive home from buying my first FD . I pulled every car I could, and happened to be the fastest car making the trip that evening.

Set-up:
RP ported motor
sequentials at 13.5psi
Car has some weight savings and I'm 135lb

Haha, yeah. I may be pushing 140 in my old age.

Makes a HUGE difference on the 600rr though. Really significant advantage on the motorcycle track. Plus I get the knowledge that my bike is "faster" than everyone elses.

Wow, congrats.
Just wondering how much hp are you putting down?
I went @ 65 mph against the latest body viper and was annihilated.
Always wonder how much hp I would need to hang with one.

I was thinking the same thing after it happened, lol.

The aerodynamics and weight could not of been helping. A true Viper would have eaten me alive. But I hope he thought he wasted his money on that viper powered truck.

I was putting down about 310WHP with some weight reduction. There is no way I would hang with a Viper at that level.

I wouldnt say you WOULDNT be able to hang, but with another 90whp you could pull one

Haha, my weight goes from 130-140 and back in two months time. But weight reduction is weight reduction, right Nice kill, those trucks are so huge. 5000 lb IIRC, but with 500 hp/525 ft-lb. That puts it at a disadvantage power-weight ratio wise as compared to you. Congrats on the new FD, treat her right and she'll be good to you

what? I think you misread what he said...

4/5 were his tokico shock settings (they can be set 1-5). He has 450 lb springs in the rear, which is fairly stiff for an FD rear end IMO.

I live in 78704.

Afterburn understood my suspension comment. What would a 4/5 spring rate even mean???

Sorry no vid guys. My G/F was actually a few cars back watching and could have filmed. But she wasn't impressed with the shenanigans...

He probably thought 4/5 were your spring rates expressed in kg/mm, rather than lb/in.

4/5 would be ~224/280 in lb/in. So that is why he thought they were soft.
