My FD Kills Aston Martin DB9 & Vanquish

Anyway...driving back from having the car tuned after a fresh rebuild and my BNR S3 Twins being fitted. Merrily going along at around 10pm.

Im coming off one motorway onto another on a 50mph slip road. Im on inside lane. 2 Astons pass me on the outside. So i look over at my bro...we both grin...

I waited until we got clear of the bend...got closer...closer...not aggresivley...just steady. They are both in the middle lane now i move to the outside. Pull up along side. Driver of the DB9 Convertible in Sky Blue looks over and shakes his head as if to say you dont stand a chance...I gun it and leave him for dead.

Drop back down to 70mph...they catch up. Im in the middle they are in the outside along side each other he nails it i leave it in 5th and floor it! I stuck with him until he had no choice but to move over and let me pass! Played with him for a good few miles passing each other...a good run...but theres more :D

So do the same again with the Vanquish...Silver Titanium...awesome sounding car! We go full out for a good 3 miles me reaching 6900rpm top of 5th! By that time he was about 5 car lengths behind!!!! By far the best race iv had in the FD up to now. I had a play with some bikes before but not up to these speeds. Bikers tend to back off at around 140mph :(

Anyway we all cool down to 70mph and they both decide to stay behind me until they turn off the motorway. I blinked my hazard lights in recognition of a good run but they chose to ignore it...

I was soooooo pleased! Finally after 16 months off the road the day i get it tuned i destroy a 5.9L £160,000 500hp Vanquish

Muhahahahaha bring it oooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!

DarkKnightFC 10-12-07 04:32 PM

Probably that 4k pounds of weight working against them.

ICE_Pilot 10-12-07 05:14 PM

Exelant kill, I love it when a eruo gets kaned. I can wait to find a car like that here in NZ to race. Just need to get my GT35/40 setup tuned now.

scratchjunkie 10-12-07 05:37 PM

good kill! i was dead even a few years ago with a vanquish and my mods at that time were only intake, dp, exuast, and m2 ecu.

1RevvinFC3S 10-12-07 05:46 PM

Nice kills. Seems like every Aston driver I've encountered is a paumpus ass.

RX7 RAGE 10-12-07 06:15 PM

How much rwhp did you make on the BNRs?

Twinnos 10-12-07 06:58 PM

ahhh yes, and we wait for the answer....................

gainer_reniag 10-12-07 07:17 PM

im curious to find out too.

RX7 RAGE 10-12-07 07:35 PM

I might have believed your story until I read this. In 5th gear, at 70 mph, you don't have shit for power. As far as I am concerned, you have ZERO credibility after writing this.

Oh, and why are you listing your speeds in mph? Since you are in the UK, your speedo reads KPH in large lettering. I think you are full of shit.

toms4 10-13-07 12:00 PM

adam c

I agree completly with you. This story is total BS, this just so happens to be his first post in 3 years and the 1st time he has his car tuned/on the road/etc/etc/BS/BS/BS

People should back there stories up with video, that is the only way I believe half of these stories!

RX7 RAGE 10-13-07 12:08 PM

I think the fool disappeared. lol

Rixio_Scon 10-13-07 03:43 PM

Fuck you guys...just cos im not a thick yank and i know what kph = in mph & we work in MPH here in the UK, just because my speedo reads in kph doesnt mean i dont know what speed im doing in mph?? How do you know i dont have another digital gauge that tells me my speed in mph...you dont!...and also i also have another user account...

Shit for power...sorry but have you driven my car or similar spec car? Possibly but I dooooont think so...what spec do you drive? Iv got 3 FD's all running over 400hp...so fuuuuuuuuuuuck youuuuuuu

And anyway what would i actually have to gain by lying?!?! At the end of the day i know what happened my bro knows what happened so frankly i dont give a fuck what you think!

& in answer to the HP question i dont know yet because it hasnt been dyno'd

harris2182 10-13-07 05:07 PM

im from uk too. my speedo has a converter to read mph. roads here are mph. rixio is a sound lad. one of his rex`s won best of show at rotorstock this year.

adam c 10-13-07 07:04 PM

Rixio,

Most of what you initially posted was believable. But, like I said earlier, your car isn't going to make very much power in 5th gear at 70 mph. Unless you are an imbecile, you know that too. You may make 400 hp at 6500 rpm, but you sure can't do it at 4000 rpm. So, if the other guy was racing (and wasn't a complete idiot), he should have destroyed you. Was he an idiot, or simply not racing?

I don't know what you would gain by lying, but it happens frequently here.

matty 10-13-07 08:11 PM

70 mph in 5th gear .....what an idiot.....

FD3S2005 10-13-07 10:54 PM

also are you running the twins seq or not..

What a strange thing to write. Speedo's in the UK read in mph in big letters, even on an import, they have to be converted to mph as that is what our speed limits are in. Do you think we're in France or something?

As for the 70mph, 5th gear thing - personally I would have changed down but I know Rixio too and he has no reason to make this stuff up, it does sound a bit far fetched unless he's non sequential but not enough to flame him.

Good kill, mate.

GSB 10-15-07 08:49 AM

70mph in fifth ??

I run a Apexi rx6 turbo unit and can leave it in fifth too , all depends on what rpm the turbo kicks in guys :shocking:

Veger 10-15-07 09:24 AM

I personally know Rixio well and i know the guy has no need to make things up :icon_tup: .

Hes a sound guy and is a willing helper to anyone who needs a hand. :)

I think what he believes it true really happend.

Hes running bnr's seq and has one of the top tuners/builders in the UK as a close friend and duz all his work, including his rebuild so i wouldnt be suprised if something nice is going on under that bonnet. ;)

Dunno about the ports or anything else but i know hes aiming for the highest bhp in the UK on bnr's

Give the guy a little slack as he dont deserve flames.

You should be ashamed of yourslefs but then again flames are all to easy to ignight here, guess its cause the average age here is lower than UK FD owners (just an asumption). :tonque:

Flame away if you like as it will fall on deaf ears as im 2 long in the tooth to listen to yas :D

adam c 10-15-07 09:52 AM

Well, Rixio may be a nice guy, and maybe its all true. However, trying to race someone while in 5th gear at 70 mph is just plain foolish. If the Aston Martin driver were in the proper gear, he would have easily walked away from Rixio. Maybe they are both poor racers??? That's the only explanation unless the Aston Martin driver simply wasn't racing.

matty 10-15-07 10:25 AM

yeah i agree...seems like rixio has a good reputation. i dont care what turbo u have at 70mph in 5th gear...he would get smoked like a mother fucker as long as the guy in the other car knows what he is doing. i am not gona argue anymore. this is just dumb.

1RevvinFC3S 10-15-07 10:54 AM

Thats how I walked all over a Mach 1 Mustang (newer model) in my FC. He didn't bump it down a few gears so I took advantage of that.

rotarygoth 10-15-07 11:41 AM

:rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

At the end of the day is it that important???

Maybe the Vanquish paddle gearbox was slow to react, maybe the driver was, or maybe Rixio has managed to map his car and get his turbo setup better than yours? who knows - point is he whipped the asses of two Astons That is a good thing yeah?

ihavetwins 10-15-07 12:35 PM

nice kill man.

RacerJason 10-15-07 12:52 PM

All fare and well but... it took you 16 months to get the car there. What were the two Aston's doing over those 16 months? Being reliably driven each day.

Hilarious when FD owners celebrate small victories and don't add the cost and time lost in to the equation. I'll take a 400hp car that will start every day and all I have to do is change the oil over a bipolar hi-maintenance sportscar making 450 or 500 hp. Give me a 2006 M5 an I'll never need another car and in the long run it will have cost the same as many performance FD's spend in their cars lives.

My Rovers had it in MPH... I thought that too until I got there... If you bring a car over from Japan you have to convert it to miles not kilometers an hour.

I was stationed there for a while.

And maybe the guy's got 4.88 gears or something...

This is why us americans as a whole are looked at as jerkoffs. I was embarrassed while I was there because of people like this... (the quote)

I did like Rotorstock in 2005 at Shakespeare Raceway... Wish I had my FD.

Jon Goodwin 10-16-07 03:42 AM

Oh the Mods on MRC would love this!!

socalrotor 10-16-07 03:48 AM

so was it a v12 vanquish or the 4.3 v8?

I have ~ 475Hp FD & it's been running fine for 7 yrs now (hardly "bipolar" as you insinuate....it still has the stock twins in fact). Some people perform routine maintenance on their RX-7s, some don't. That will be the case with any car, modded or otherwise.

No "performance FD" is going to cost $100k+....not if properly maintained....not anywhere close to that money. Your vaunted M5 owner better hang on to his/her wallet when it comes time for that quattrovalve V-10 valve job.....that is going to be pricey - guaranteed.

dont even waste ur time getting into it with racerjason...he is clearly an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

socalrotor 10-16-07 06:42 PM

LMAO...who keeps a bmw long enough to need a valve job!!!! what a tool!

Circuit Theory 10-16-07 07:46 PM

Good Kill,

Not sure why some many people think the only fast sevens are in the US, JP, and Australia. The FD and FC are all over the world and modded all over the world.

If you took all the FD`s in each country and came up with some sort of way to determine what the average FD for that country was like my guess is that the US would not be near the top, especially since the US was only given the 93-95 models.

I find it funny that you guys would call BS on this rixio for using MPH when that is what the UK uses for there roads. Oh well better luck with your next attempt to make yourself feel superior to a fellow rotor head.

dark_sado 10-16-07 08:32 PM

good kills

Tool? Hanging on to a car for more than 10 yrs/100k miles is intelligent, not being a "tool". Using your logic, I wouldn't still have my '93 CYM (and you would not own that 2nd Gen you drive).

1RevvinFC3S 10-16-07 10:18 PM

^Plus, isn't a car an investment as much as it is a means of transportation?

matty 10-17-07 08:04 AM

def not an investment

1RevvinFC3S 10-17-07 10:48 AM

^How is it not? In the long run, a car is just a means of transportation, correct? Transportation gets you to and from work, thus earning you money. Not only that, but you invest alot of your time into an automobile if it happens to be your weekend toy. "Investment" doesn't have to mean that you collect on it in $$$ over time, it can also mean that its something that makes up a very important part of your life. And in my eyes, a new BMW M5 is an investment. A very pricey one that I wouldn't be able to pull off.

Rixio_Scon 10-17-07 02:39 PM

HAHAHA seems we have more MRC members on this here forum than i thought...

Yes, yes, you guys want specs eyh...my Rz is running...

Fresh Extend Port Engine
BNR S3 Twins in SEQ running at 1.15bar (or 16.67937psi for you lesser brained fools)
1680cc 2ndries
Cosmo Upper & Lower Intake Manifolds
Greddy Elbow
TKT Intake Kit with Cold Air Feed
HKS FMIC
Feed Racing Rad
TKT AST
HKS Downpipe
RE-Amemiya Ti Resonator
Custom Titianium Exhaust

etc etc etc

BTW would it have made any difference if i said my car was a full bridge running a T51R SPL?? Or would you guys flame that aswell...hhmmmm hey ho i wonder about you guys sometimes...and then you wonder why people from other countries think that all yanks are thick...Now dont take that out of context...

harris2182 10-17-07 04:48 PM

please , lets not get into a who` the brainiest on which side of the big pond bull shit.
