500whp Prelude Turbo vs 97 Supra TT

Well I am going to run my buddy’s T4 fully built 2000 honda prelude tonight:
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...udeADFinal.jpg
He is fast, making 500whp+ on race gas, but we will be doing the race on 93 pump.

Supra Modifications:
HKS Titanium Exhaust
3.5inch Downpipe
MBC set at 17-18psi

I will have the video up later tonight or tomorrow for your viewing pleasure. Stay tuned my friends.

IndyKid 10-05-05 08:53 PM

Get vid. What kind of power at pump gas?

FD Rey 10-05-05 09:10 PM

wow, that's going to be interesting. lol

7THSIGN 10-05-05 11:25 PM

ok, just got back, this was an AWSOME night guys, i even got to run a modified RX7 we bumped in to and we got a lot of video shots from the night!!!! video should be up soon, my buddy is going to edit it.

Indy, the car is pushing about 350-400whp on 93 pump gas.

Here are some of the vids from the Turbo Prelude view, I will have more vids up tomorrow from my Supra view. Also a 150mph fly by I did and some other vids of the night.

Note: some of these runs were started in 3rd and some in 2nd gear, i cut off at around 145mph.

that prelude is not easy to shift in. i told him to lost that short shifter, never liked them, plus he has a full race clutch in it.

the prelude at 18psi tonight was making about 350-400whp.

i will be running his Z06 tomorrow night, i will get that on tape as well.

"its not spoolin.....somethings wrong......it doesn't spool...oh shit...Im in 5th gear" hahaha

Directfreak 10-06-05 11:24 AM

Vid 3 is not working (bad link maybe?)

Directfreak 10-06-05 11:27 AM

Missed Gear or not, you Raped him.

That Prelude sure sounds slow though. I don't think it's even putting out 300.

ItalynStylion 10-06-05 12:01 PM

yeah, that night he didnt seem to be putting down any power...
If you just have bolt ons and he should be running 400whp he should win hands down since he is in a lighter car

KCGSLSE 10-06-05 01:13 PM

For more than $22,000 he Should've just bought a supra or something else thats actually fast...

PhatManBUD 10-06-05 03:43 PM

I agree with ^

no respect for hondas. I dont care how much hp it makes. Doesnt make up for the over all design of a top end car like a supra! or rx7s.

vhalin 10-06-05 05:01 PM

I love what this says for Honduhs. A Toyota with $1000 in mods vs a Honda with $20,000 is considered a fair fight.

scratchjunkie 10-06-05 05:07 PM

that prelude must have had a boost leak. hahahahaha good kill!

Preludes aren't light cars, they have 200-220hp depending on year and they barely break 14s, most are low 15s. The guy in the Prelude obviously can't drive, he missed a gear every race and thought he was in 3rd, but was actually in 5th.

rosey 10-06-05 05:46 PM

Agree'ed on the prelude guy having no clue how to drive, but a prelude is still a ton lighter then a 3500+lb supra. I would have expected the honda to be way faster than that...but anywho nice supra, race that same guy in his Z06 so you can go tell everyone you beat a Z06 in a nearly stock supra. :bigthumb:

2jz=teh pwned honduhs

7THSIGN 10-06-05 05:57 PM

18psi is what the prelude was on, that is max safe boost on pump gas. my friend told me that the prelude weights 3300lbs. it was making about 350whp.

i am on 18psi with exhaust, downpipe.

i should have shots from in my car and some other clips on the night up soon. thanks guys.

FD Rey 10-06-05 07:04 PM

You tore him a new one, as I thought you would. Tell him to come back with race gas so he only loses by 2 cars.

spimp 10-06-05 07:07 PM

from looking at the vid that prelude can't have that much power. before he missed the gear he still got pulled. a car that much lighter with that power would have let all us know form the jump that it wasn't going to be a pushover and i didn't see that!

birdy01 10-06-05 07:10 PM

lol the supra pulled him like nothing but yea, doesnt seem like he's pushing much power

SiKoPaThX 10-06-05 07:14 PM

How do you miss 4th so much? It's STRAIGHT DOWN!

7THSIGN 10-06-05 07:34 PM

Ok, do you guys want my honest opinion on my buddy turbo prelude. From day one, 2 years ago when he began the turbo setup he has on it now (3 years ago he had a Greddy Turbo kit), I told him that his engine build up was fine and he chose good parts, but the damn turbo he picked was too DAMN LARGE!!! I mean it’s a straight T4/60-1!!!! It is HUGE!!, he had to custom fit the full race exhaust manifold to get it to fit. I tried to explain to him how a turbo flow chart works and what not, but he just wanted a gigantic turbo. I also recommended a SC61 at the time or a T3/67 (the GT35R was not out).

Im my opinion the turbo he has on there, the T4/60-1 is just way to big for his inline 4. it was not the right choice for his setup. But please don’t get me wrong, his motor is damn good, very well put together, just needs the right turbo. :)

The guy can't drive. The car is slow as molasses in relation to your Supra :o) . There is no way that thing is putting anywhere near 500 RWHP, little lone @ the flywheel.

Good kills but kinda a waste of gas for you!

See ya,
-Matt

Well, he did say he was on pump gas making about 350hp.
