Not nearly as glamorous, but here are photos of the guard on my red FD this evening. The tape is actually really strong so it should be fine as is:

Yes, the tapes we included is custom ordered 3M double sided heavy duty industrial tape. These tapes are usually not sold in most regular hardware stores. They should hold the guards even if you track the car hard or hit something lightly.

Went out to the parkinglot at lunch and it's a perfect fit...To be able to rivit it into place (if you plan to rivit the extreme bottom at the curve) the exhaust will have to be removed...I will just skip that section and do what I can until I have the time to take it off and do a good job.
