I've been a member for a little while and I still consider myself a noob. My name is chris, i live in hawaii and i have owned my fd for about 4 years. It's a 93 vintage red r1 with 70000 miles and has a million problems. Due to my financial situation and trust issues I find myself working on my own car. I bought the fd at an early age thinking I was getting a really good deal but a harsh reality dawned on me as little time went by. First to go was the starter. But it wasn't the starter, it was the oem alarm system. So I changed the starter and was very dissappointed. I changed the alarm system and have suffered through that also. Then was the parasitic drain, then the accident with my crumpled hatch then the oil metering pump then the ecu. I am currently trying to weed out all my problems and when I do I may finally go single and try to enjoy the car instead of dread it. People ask me why I haven't sold it already but I tell them all the same thing. I just have a strong liking to this car and the rotary. I have owned many different cars including a 89 non-turbo fc. And nothing appeals more to me than an fd. At this point of my project I have installed a compustar alarm that I will be uninstalling. Installed a fuel system from rx7.com with 1300 cc secondarys with rail in paralell with stock primary fpr and pump. A power fc datalogit and innovate wideband. I haven't put on much miles and haven't driven it hard at all since the previous owner stated the rebuild was done. I can't even make out what the car is doing. I'll post updates after I take out the alarm.
