sooooooooo my uncle gave me an rx-7 for my bday its a 1979 1st gen i wanted to work on it and learn a little more.

anyways here it is..



It has a real bad backfiring problem it usually pops if i shift to fast or give it too much gas, by real bad i mean sounds like gunshots ahahha i dont know what to do..

I looked in the manual and it says theres a hotter sparkplug i could use but i cant find it anywhere!

Im going to try replacing the catalytic converter and header im still new at the whole car thing my dad used to be a big hotrodder he had a 68 firebird but totaled it =(((((((


for now i need to fix the backfire, look for a header thatll fit, sparkplugsssss.... hit me up please and thanks!

 

Have you tried giving a call to Granny Speed Shop? They're in Concrete, WA. They are pretty knowledgeable.
