New member FD3S Non sequentiaI

Good day gents

Name is Tristan I'm from St Lucia in the eastern Caribbean and recently purchased my first rotary details:

96 FD3S
Non sequentiaI
Walbro 255
Carbon fibre intake
Stock 3" pipe (no precat)
Currently .7 bar peak
Stock ecu
Stock oil coolers
H&R Springs
Drilled and slotted brakes and I don't know what pads are on there.

I'm having a blast on here I must say information is coming along very nicely and I hope to share my experiences as my car grows and pick your brains.

Thanks

Tristan

Thanks a lot man, i was torn between an fc and this FD for some reason the FC just appealed so much but coming from a celica gt4 i wanted something with similar or greater power. Just didnt expect it to be so slippery in the wet.

lol nice i definitely will do that as im new to rotary, i had a bit of hesitation after auto crossing last weekend turned out that one of the hoses (goes to the little green solenoids?) was disconnected from the cornering g's, simple fix but it put much fear in my heart. got it operating proper with the re-connection of the hose and a battery disconnect.

Well for now i got the mazda speed body kit i am planning on investing in KYB or Koni shocks and a power fc/aem ems 4 but the car is basically stock. Im considering a t04s as id leak to keep response as close t stock as possible whilst maximizing power/efficiency. im open to suggestions for the ecu budget is kinda low lol but i need the car to remain daily drive-able for a bit.

Good day Gents

Quick update i just moved to a Precision 6266 single turbo on my PFS intercooler sticking with the 3" de-cated exhaust and veilside catback cuz it sounds good and is quiet compared to most other tips ive tried. My plan is to run on wastegate pressure of 10psi and basically wait for the tuner so the injectors can go on mod list below;

Precision 6266 .86 back
Intercooler piping remains at the stock size 2.75"
Veilside Catback with custom mid-pipe and 3" downpipe
2 * 850cc Primaries(side-fed customized primary rail)
2* 1600 Secondaries(Side-fed) oem rail
Microtech Lt10s with harness and Ingnition module
Turbosmart 50mm Wastegate(10 PSI spring)
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
Rats nest and all other emissions deleted

Looking for response and ease to work on the engine as well as diagnosing issues the stock twins were really in the way
Considering a multi guage set up using an android tablet as the display as i dont like guages all about and the DEFI All in one to replace the oem guage cluster

before photo will update with the finished product when complete...

First post

I find a lot of info in this forum. Thought I would introduce myself. I have a 93 rx7 teal all original. I’ve gone through the whole car with new brakes pads and rotors, all new hoses, new original radiator, the higher capacity radiator It had when I bought it rubbed on the fan housing causing the cooling fans to quit working so went back to the original radiator & housing. Runs cool even at high temps.
I Installed another switch in the center console to activate the fans after shut off to cool under the hood. It’s wired wired to the existing CPU timer feature. When the switch is on it runs the fans 10 minutes after engine shut off to cool the engine compartment and keep the rubber hoses and components from excessive temps. I learned about this option in rx7 club when I was concerned the car would run hot after changing the radiator.
The car also had a turbo timer and boost control installed when I got it. I don’t know if the boost control actually works. I’ve had the car two years driving once a month. Passed smog back then and just got a DMV registration renewal requiring another smog.
The last time I checked the fluids I noticed 2 vacuumed hoses disconnected under the intake and plugged them in. But not sure if they are correct.
I looked at the vaccumm diagram under the hood but was hard to read and determine which hose was which.
It also has a gasket air leak in the intake manifold right above where all the Vacume hoses are. Also the cruise control will not stay activated. It sticks then releases, engage release intermittently, the cars slows down then cruise light goes off. Still working on that one. The car runs great other than a few rattles and knocking Sound in the rear undercarriage With any jolt. I’ll post when I figure these out.

Are you running stock ECU or aftermarket? if so which one? From what i've read on the forum, the cruise control doesn't like to play very well with aftermarket ECUs.

Love the color on your car Tristan. How's the car scene in St. Lucia? I visited a couple years ago but of course only saw the touristy areas
