Inheritance

I inherited my dad's RX7 back in 2010. It is a 1985 Mazda RX7 GSL-SE charcoal grey 43,000 original miles and has never seen a Minnesota winter. It's in great shape but unfortunately it hasn't ran in 15 years. Ready to get it back on the road!

Welcome to the forums. The good news is, the car can probably be brought back without a major rebuild or anything. If he kept it off the road in winter, he probably took decent care of it overall. I'd post up a thread in the 1st Gen build section with some pictures and description of what you wish to accomplish. You will find lots of help and advice to guide you.

First thing is, can you turn the motor over by hand? A good start would be to drain / replace the fluids, replace the fuel filter, check the brakes and clutch for operation. Make a list of anything obviously broken or questionable. Again, if your not sure, post up some pics and ask.

Thank you

Thank you very much.. It's great to know there is such a place where people are willing to help you out. I've had the car for quite a while and I just wasn't quite confident enough to get started. This kind of support is just the boost I need to get started thanks again!
