Welcome aboard Alex. Shine Auto Project has some fantastic parts that you might like. One thing I would caution you about is to do reliability mods first if they've not already been done. FDs are notorious for running hot as their radiator is smaller than a FC's, and this affects quite a few parts. Most owners go with a Koyo all-aluminum radiator, check out Mazdatrix for more info on them. The other items most affected by heat are things parts made of rubber such as intake couplers, hoses and vacuum lines. Silicone is the answer. Also, the excessive heat wrecks havoc on the turbo control solenoids too. See posts by Dale Clark for more info.
As for oil cooling, R1/R2s have dual oil coolers so you should be fine there. Please keep in mind that rotaries, especially FDs are temperamental and don't tolerate neglect or being cheap gracefully. But with the right attitude, amazing things can happen. |
how much did you get her for? in the market right now and looking around for what's reasonable (smh at people on ebay who think their cars are worth 30k)
