I am a 18 year old from California who's RX-7 FB will not pass smog due to Ignition Timing , If anyone could do me of help, it would be greatly appreciated.

 

have you messed with the timing at all? what year 7? im assuming 81-85 since you said FB and that would mean you have an electric dizzy (not points style that came on sa's), yes?

 

I have, me and my old teacher did to get the thing running, it had a large misfire, causing it to not idle well, and would just die out when not warm, or when dropping rpm when breaking. we also ran some carb cleaner, and a full tank of gas, but when i went to smog, the HC levels were way way to high.
