I just got an 88 convertable. I am still not sure where I am going with it though. I am still sourcing a window and new top (when the stereo was stolen the theivs cut the top then broke the window when they found out they couldn't get in that way). I got it for a good deal, running great. I got it from a buddy of mine that decided to get a different vert. We'll see where it goes from here. I just want to be able to drive it even if it is raining.

I just spent the weekend swapping out to a completely stock engine. THe reason is, when I go and get the car registered I have to have a good running car. The less attention the better. The engine I just took out I will rebuild clean it up and put a big turbo and injectors on it. The biggest problem that I ran into was the rust. The car will be 20 years old and I live in a sh"""y environment for cars, but I need to do some work. One good thing is the quality of the car. I thought that Japan was supposed to bad quality and I really cant find the real bad part.

I have got the engine in. It took almost two full days. When I put my rebuild in I will do it a garage where I dont have to jack it up every other 5 minutes. I found more rust. I am think and wondering if this will be worth it. Look for pictures soon.

Here are some pics. It really isnt a one man job but people are just not interested in helping other people.

Just an update to the project, unfortunately I am running into problems with the equipment that I have access to here in Okinawa. But I do have somethings that are more accessible here too.

I have gotten far enough to get the car painted I will be posting my pictures in the garage. If you need any parts eg. twin plate clutches, manifolds, JDM stuff let me know.
