Ciao

Ciao guys and gals, I’m new here and would like to introduce myself. My name is Erik and about year and half ago I bought very early production (I think in the first thousand) Rx-7 FC. She was neglected for some time, sat, and the last owner didn’t quite help her situation either, lots of botched up repairs and rust peeking on every corner. And so I set off on an adventure of restoring her to her full glory. Starting with chassis and paintwork which was sun faded like crazy. Presently it is at paint shop and I decided to keep it the NP red which came on her originally. So whilst it is there I am working on some parts most notably would like to start on restoring my OEM duckbill which is rusted from inside I already made a post about that in the build forum but don’t know if it is right place. If you have any ideas please share. Also I have some interior ideas that I would like to see come to live, so be sure to check in few months to see the progress. And lastly, I would like to apologise for my English as it is my second language so please excuse any mistakes and also I have problems with expressing my thoughts so please excuse me if I am hard to follow

Welcome to the forum Erik! Would love to see pictures of your car, and the duckbill and it's condition.

Pics

Okay, so these are the only pics that I have before she embarked on her journey. As of yet, I didn’t shoot a photo of the duckbill in my garage, but I will post it later this day in the restoration thread I made.

Here you can see that the sills are painted over, this is one of the quick repairs made by the previous owner but sadly it didn’t quite solve the rust spots and they start peeking through again

This is my duckbill without the high mount third brake light cutout

I can’t express how much I love the interior, especially the 3 spoke wheel and supposedly it has driven for only 50K kilometres
