Buying an rx7
Buying an rx7
Hello world!
My dream car is an fc rx7. I was really hoping to buy myself one for my seventeenth birthday this year, and I’ve been trying really hard to find one I can afford. I plan on an engine swap anyway so it’s okay if it’s just a roller, I just need a somewhat clean/intact interior, mostly intact suspension, and not a convertible. Does anyone have any advice on finding one? Is Facebook marketplace good or do I have to look into auctions? I was hoping for something under 3k.
TLDR: where can I find an affordable fc rx7 rolling shell?
Thank y’all so much!

Welcome to the forum.
Marketplace for a shell is likely your best bet. Auctions cater to complete and running cars typically. I would use something like Autotempest to search nationwide on marketplace and craigslist, assuming you're willing to travel to find something.
What kind of swap are you planning?

I was hoping to k swap it (I know I’m one of those guys). I was gonna get an Acura tsx as a donor car and take the k24a2, I’ll need to get a different trans though because the tsx is front wheel drive
Good luck man. I love a rotary car but a high revving honda engine fits the character/soul of the car a lot better than a pushrod v8. And with the price of rotary stuff I can't blame anyone for swapping, especially on a FC that don't hold the same value.
