Another V8 RX7!!

12 Attachment(s)
Hey all,
My name is Jordan.

I had a 2004 Pontiac GTO, but I always wanted a FD. I sold the GTO, and decided to build a budget 5.3 swap. For this season, and probably the next, I will be running pretty much stock 5.3 with a pretty generous shot of nitrous. My goal is go to go single turbo 5.3.

1993 Mazda RX7 5.3/t56 swap.

I have a 1993 Mazda RX7 that I am going to put a stock 5.3 with t56, and just spray the shit out of the car. I will continue to post more pictures of the build up, and keep you guys informed!

Thanks! I hope that wiring will start this weekend.

95maxrider 09-19-13 12:39 PM

What are you doing to the rear end to keep in from self destructing? Are you using one of the LS swap kits? Looks like an awesome project!

RX7SL 09-19-13 04:26 PM

nice...!!

NZ7 09-19-13 10:35 PM

Beast

Cookboy 09-21-13 04:34 PM

While I'm more of a 1st gen rotary guy, I know that's a damn good motor. My suburban has one. More power to ya.

elementsk8erq 09-21-13 05:08 PM

Nice swap! Im currently waiting on funds to start my project too! Good Luck!

DblLeft47sweep 09-21-13 11:04 PM

93ScoobMonkey 09-22-13 08:34 AM

Great swap! Looks like a clean FD. I can't wait to see what this thing will run on spray alone.

rmaldonado3 09-22-13 01:59 PM

Great work!!

therealjonnyd 09-23-13 12:18 AM

LS power! Hit it with a 300 shot and hold the F on.

airwolf16 09-23-13 12:58 AM

I am also considering doing this, looking forward to some pictures in the future!

jmill13 09-23-13 09:35 AM

Thanks everyone! The fuel lines and corvette fpr are ran and hooked up. Hopefully soon I can post up a start-up video!

My Nozzle can only do up to 175hp, so that is what I am going to spray then.

h4X6 09-23-13 08:33 PM

The engine looks absolutely beast! I too would like to know how much the project has ran you so far. I have an FD that I'm trying to rebuild the engine for keeping the twin turbo set up on the 13b-rew.

I told my dad that I could swap an LS1 if I wanted to and he started to get on my case about fitting a beast of a piston engine in there lol. Only LS engine I would want to stick int here would be a LS7 but I know the conversion kits run at least around 10k not including the price of the engine.

Maybe if I come across an absolutely destroyed Camaro SS to rip the engine out of cheap at a salvage auction or something I really wouldn't think about converting.

Good show though, looks like its coming along just great!

Cheers!

Top Secret 10-07-13 05:16 AM

Looking good!

Joethefo 10-07-13 07:01 AM

How can the body handle the extra weigh plus final torque numbers with turbo??

Montego 10-07-13 09:20 AM

Welcome op. Looks like its gonna be a beast congrats. Now many of us here aren't too keen on V8 swaps, but in the end I subscribe to the idealogy of 'hey its your car, do what you want'.

With that attitude, I'd say you're on the wrong forum chief... The frankenseven forum is down the street. :)
