Haha, love the FC! I guess I could say that I'm +20yrs rotary sober, having an 86 FC back in the day as well . As of Sunday though I was bestowed this lovely little nugget, so I've fallen off the wagon.

What's your plans with the car?

Thanks! This is my first official project car and it's been sitting for about 10yrs, so I want to get it up and running again, try to restore it a bit to its former glory, and try to also update with some more contemporary bits like the suspension, brakes, etc. I'm not really looking to doing anything super crazy with it at this point in time. It's an 84 GSL trim with an automatic. I do eventually want to swap the automatic transmission for a manual, but that is a task for later I think.

Welcome back Mr. Vulkan. No need to be awkward, you're with friends (awkward creepy cult like smile).

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new 84!! Do you know any of the car's history? Looks like an excellent restoration project!

Thanks everyone! From my understanding, I'm the third owner of the car. It was given to me by my partner's family and grandfather, who owned it for a long time. From my understanding he bought it from the original owner around 20 years ago. Unfortunately, due to his declining health, the car has been parked up for over 10 years. I don't know much more about it at this time, as the decision to give it to me happened on a whim, but I will be seeing more of the family again in about a week. Hopefully I'll learn a bit more about its history then. The car is still parked up a couple hours away from me still, so I still need to go through an extensive check on everything.
