GOTBANNED?

So this christmas I thought i would get a head start on some installs i will be doing this winter since we still have NO snow up here on Canada, Ontario. I will post pics tomorrow but this is what i have done soo far.

just installed my 6.5" JBL compenents up front. Finished the driver side today and actually was not soo hard to install. They are mount very solidly to the door and look great!

I removed the stock bose unit and used Dynamat Sound Deadening on the metal so would help with the sound.

Tomorrow I will finish the passenger side and take pics as well. Should take me about an hour to finich the passenger.

I will be using Damons style rear moxe but have to make it shorter since my battery was relocated to the back aswell right under the strut bar.

and I'll be mounting my amp to either the subwoofer box or making board out of MDF and cut to shape to fit the rear hatch and bolt it to the MDF.

Just felt like sharing.

I would use a cheap foam baffle to seal off the woofer's airspace. You will get much better sound that way!

Nice work! I will be doing something similar in the near future.

if you have a crossover on it there will be no need for foam baffle as there will be no lows coming out of it.

wow awesome, i was going to install my speakers the other day but was too scared to hack my door apart. where do i get these cheap baffles?

Very nice job, I had 6.5's with a large mount depth so I had to "hack up" the 7 if you'd like to call it that. This is how mine turned out. I used fiberglass to make a mold and mounted everything there.

oh ya i mounted the cross overs on the back of the template I made it's very clear when you see the pictures. Just have to finish putting the grills back on.

I did have to grind down the inside of the grills to mount them. So i glued them on with some crazy as clue that wont even come off my damn fingers now! before i glue the second one in i will take pics and show you what i meant by i had to grind them.

Im curious as to what the speakers will sound like. I plan on doing this sometime in the future but I want to use foam baffles on the speakers. Can't wait to see your pictures!

Well today i finally had a chance to finish off the speakers in the doors and it looks amazing just have to put the door panels back in and run wires for the amp. speakers fit amaing and window goes all the way down. I have pictures just waiting on a friend to re-size them for me.

or does any know a site i can up load them on?

WHat did you use to cut the holes for the tweets and do they swival?

I used just a plane hole cutter saw that you attach to the drill. just taped the area i want to cut with duck tape and cut so the leather would not stretch and get wrecked turned out clean! Just remember DO NOT push the hole saw through let it cut at its one pace slowly do not rush it or it will start to tear the leather. If you go slow no problem.

Just started on my rear hatch part today. I took the carpet out laid it on MDF board and tarced and cut. Had to make it 2 pieces how ever could get the whole thing in at once. Which is fine. Tomorrow if I get a chnace durring the day I will glue a small layer of foam on it before covering with leather.

Thanks mount amp to it, and i decided to go with a bazoka bass tube for a cleaner install.

P.S. they do swival

Just make sure that the cone or surround doesn't hit the door panel when you turn the beats up. that'll chew up a speaker real quick.

checked and made sure there was enough space between the two. BUt thats also a good not to have.
