Yeah. It's a recaro and it serves it's purpose. I'm at the stage right now where I'm not really worried about looks, rather finish up the reliability mods and then move on to performance.

Every time I see the seat it reminds me of the HKS Drag GTR from the mid 90's

Fabric dye.

it really isnt that big of a deal to me. I could care less at the moment. But I'll end up getting a pair of red seats sometime in the future

I just got this shift knob. Sorry no pic in the car yet.

How do you guys hold the boot up the knob? My boot just hangs low and you can see the shifter rod with the knob on top. It looks prettty funny lol.

there are a few different ways to do it. i chose to take the shift knob off, pop the console off and remove the boot, screw the knob back on and draw a line on the rod at the farthest point it screws down to, remove the knob again, wrap tape around the rod until it builds up so that the boot will fall no lower than the line on the rod, replace console and boot, screw knob back on.

thats how i did mine, it looks good, its easy, takes hardly and time at all, and it stays in place well. hope this helps.

heres mines! i need to retap it so it can sit lower.

XxMerlinxX Jan 26, 2007 02:05 AM

^^ That's seriously a mazdaspeed knob? I've never seen that before.

magnus.rx7 Jan 26, 2007 02:29 AM

Anybody knows which of the following thread patterns will fit the FD?

12 x 1.25
12 x 1.5
10 x 1.25

Aristo Jan 26, 2007 02:45 AM

No, it's actually the titanium Mazda OEM knob and handle.

The FD is an M10x1.25 thread pitch.

Well that's weird because it says, "MAZDASPEED" down the side of it.

Aristo Jan 26, 2007 02:11 PM

Oh, my bad, I thought you were referring to post #45, by wompa, which he claimed was a Mazdaspeed knob but which is infact am OEM piece. Yeah I agree, the one showed with Mazdaspeed on the side does seem pretty unique, and I don't think I have ever seen it before.

Miata and FD should be interchangeable.

Couple of questions (ok three):
1. What is the threading for FB shifters?
2. Anyone seen a Skunk2-style knob (see pic) that would fit FB? Shape, color and etching?

3. Will Thompson Auto Parts etch the shift pattern into the top of the Team Voodoo Knobs?

These are voodoo standard balls with the extension machined off and then powder coated. I have a black one as well with white shift pattern. Since they're Voodoo, they fit perfectly.

Gordon

I want mine to have the old school Mazda emblem, my steering wheel has that horn button already and it would match. Does anyone know how I can get this done, or where I can get one with the emblem? Black preferably.

Sounds to me like GMonsen was saying he got those two etched by the company he bought them from. Since the only place to get the Voodoo Knobs is Thompson Automotive, I'm going to hazard a guess that they will work the image too.
