RX-7 series 6 Carbon Fibre doors

I have made some doors for RX-7 which are FULL Carbon Fibre and weigh under 4kg per door (more than 10kg per door lighter than the standard steel door)

Hey guys...you guys prob don't know this, but if I'm not mistaken, carbon man is THE individual who made a bunch of the carbon fiber parts for the RX-7 SP version, which was made to commemorate the RX-7's win at Bathurst. So you're talking about TOP quality, quality that Mazda Australia itself employed on their limited production RX-7 SP (ie Bathurst Edition).

Carbon man, I PMed you. I've actually been looking to get ahold of you for quite some time...

These doors have no fibreglass, they are full carbon fibre and have carbon fibre anty-intrusion bar also made in carbon. I have now made 2 sets which are on race cars. The doors are $2500 each.

RX-7 bits

sorry about the price but we only make carbon fibre part mostly for motor racing and we put a lot of work into each part, We also make a rear hatch in full carbon fibre that weighs 3.4kg which is more than 11kg lighter than the original steel hatch and then fiting a perspex rear screan can save an other 5kg over the glass. For some people the weight reduction is worth the expence.

The door is a complete replica of a steel door. There is thread inserts for the hinges and the mirror. If the doors are painted then other than the weight you can not tell the difference from a steel door.

that is miraculous!! I do carbon fiber and this would have to take the most state of the art mold making and composite laminating possible. I am flabergasted. I bow down to you Carbon Man. I always wanted to go to Aussi, do you guys need any more employees? I am so interested in other stuff you have done. Can you lead me to more info on you guys?

I did the modifications to a proto type bar that came out of Mazda Japan and we made it in Carbon Fibre for the SP, The rear bumper was standard. The rear wing proto Type had 3 legs and was made of fibreglass and the Mazda engineers from Japan said it needed 3 legs or it would colapse so we made it in carbon fibre and we added a small gurnie flap after a few days of testing. (we tested more than 30 variants for the rear wing).

The reason these products are expensive is because of the complexity of the moulding. I do need workers, but I need workers that can produce quality work.

I am not really going to the down under, too bad. I am just very impressed and would love to work for a company that does what you do. I am by no means an expert but, perfection is a little hard to overlook for me. Carbon Fiber anything is not easy. Mold making and the complex process of fabricating something like that door is definately why the door garnishes that price and should. I for one am impressed and wish I could get the experience of working for you. Keep up the innovative and astonishing work. My hats off to you sir.
