I have always been a fan of BMW Imola Red...much less orange than a lot of other reds and it ages well...

I think my vote is for VR, although I gotta agree with cozmo... I did see that BMW red in person one time and it definitely grabbed my attention... really nice. May wanna stop by some BMW dealer or something and try to find a red car just to see it for yourself.

I personally love the '05 shinka black cherry and think it would be a nice choice if you can get it right. When it's good it looks practically black in medium to low light, but when when bright direct light hits it the cherry and flake glows; hence the name I just hate it when i see classifieds selling '05 shinkas and they call the color purple!

Thumbs up

A good friend had his FD painted Viper red and I didn't like the way it came out. Looked a bit 'orangey' in certain lighting.

I had my FD repainted factory Vintage Red with Spies Hecker german paint about 3 years ago and it came out great. People that see the car in person often compliment the paint job

Wow guys!!! Impressive feedback, I am sorry for jumping in so late. I have been swamped this weekend but I'm happy to say 99 front bumper and all the accessories are on their ways. Let me recap what has happened in this thread. On page two there are a couple pictures of 7's. A few I am very very curious to know the paintcode it’s using:

View page two, 7 rocket posted 3 pictures, what paint is that third picture using. The one with the gun mental rims, and brick wall behind it??? Anybody know?

Next view page 2 again, FD3S2005 the first picture he painted looks like a JDM spec 7. Do you know what piantcode or red this one is using??

Thanks guys for all the help were getting close to finding the right color! Car will be in the shop this week if I can decide on the perfect color.

Mine is Ferrari Red, the problem with sharing colors on the "Boards" is that it relies on 3 Things accurate photo color rendition, when taking the photo, good light, and a color calibrated monitor to view those pictures on... which if you have an LCD is an imposibility....

So with that said: Ferrari Red.

You have my vote for the Vintage Red. Although I like all of the Red's that have been posted up!
Take a look at Rich's car(GoodFellaFD3S) in the Dyno Thread of his sig. Color really stands out in low light conditions. A very good example of a Clean and well cared for vehicle!

Ferrari red looks alittle dull.. maybe its the lighting in that picture. Still very nice!

thanks for the compliment man . The car was painted by a good friend who really cut me an amazing deal on the paintjob, I'm extremely happy with the way it came out and the way it has held up.

As i mentioned above, it's stock 3 stage vintage red. If you perform a search on the forum, you can find the code. That's what I did 3 years ago when I was having my car painted

edit: hey sinX where was that pictures taken looks familiar. parking lot of a certain car parts store?

On point.

I have seen some faded VR FD's and i was like eww, thats ashame which makes some people have a change of heart on that color when in reality, a fresh VR or even an original VR but nicely buffed, waxed and polished to new would look amazing..

Example, smg944 from this forum

Tell me thats not sexy as hell.

Sounds good, so you forgot the code? All good. When you say 3 stage what do you mean by that? No offense but your color looks alittle on the on pink side? Might just be the photos. I am curious about what the paint is on page 2 those 7's look very clean.

in my opinion when vr is redone its hard to get it right. i have seen several vr repaints and every single car looks different. i think it has to do with the 3 stages. some guys do it different than others which results in a different final hue.
