you should black chrome the lips of the works...with your paint color you need something that pops with it...candy is bright as hell in the sun.

GreatShamanGT 07-11-10 10:13 PM

I don't have them, so it's not everyone, lol. I think you should get the TE37 or the Advan RS wheels.

purerx7 07-11-10 11:12 PM

Ehh, I want something with a fat lip. These are the wheels I am looking to pick up, I will powdercoat the whole wheel gloss black probably.

hella flush = stupid as fuck...

purerx7 07-18-10 08:29 PM

Went with 19" Work VSXX, now just need to decide on a color.

1FAASTFD3S 07-18-10 10:53 PM

+1
VSXX over the Equips... Ive always liked the Equips but I think they would look dated on your car... Whatever happened to the Volk Ce28n's you were looking at? Or maybe even Work XD9's???
Concave Deep Dish would look bad on your car...

Yo B, check this out. Good choice with the VSXX, I like em.
Hella flush + camber = WIN!!!!!

otaku85 07-19-10 11:51 AM

i'm a fan of a formula silver face with a polished lip

purerx7 07-21-10 12:31 PM

got the vsxx in and they look awful on the car as I thought. Keeping the meisters for now, need the money for some other projects anyways.

purerx7 07-21-10 03:05 PM

Woot! Just scored a SWEET set of ultra rare (1 of 3 made) veilside pop ups. Was between these or the KS but got a decent deal on these. Here is what they look like installed:

evot23 07-21-10 04:45 PM

Sweet!!

Ceylon 07-21-10 04:55 PM

I've seen a set of those here in the UK - Nice find :)

I think you would have been disappointed with the KS - The output is terrible - I sold mine after two days of ownership

purerx7 07-21-10 04:57 PM

Hmmm might be the set I picked up Tom as I bought them from the UK

bewtew 07-21-10 05:21 PM

u got new wheels B?

purerx7 07-21-10 05:33 PM

C, yea for like 2 hours then I sold them. Going to keep the meisters, run a 255/30 up front which will allow me to drop the car another .75 to 1" or so.

Maybe new wheels in the future but I cant find anything I really like which can justify the $1500 hit I will take on the meisters.

VeilSideBrian 07-21-10 05:38 PM

How do you know that these are VeilSide lights?

bewtew 07-21-10 09:32 PM

i think 19's are just way too big for the FD. why would you be loosing $1500 how much did u pay for them?

evot23 07-26-10 01:16 PM

bump for inactivity...Bryan...get busy so we can all stay motivated.

Just from what the seller told me. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=veilside

I agree, kind of. Depends on the wheel, 3 types of wheels exist.

1. Full body wheel. This would be like your advan rs wheels, where there is no lip and the wheel takes up the entire space. 19s look too big in this design.

2. Wheels with just a regular lip, like my old vsxx. Can be pulled off.

3. Wheels with stepped lip like the work meister can easily be pulled off because they honestly only look like 18" since the face is so small. Paid $3000 for them plus another $1000 to have the entire wheel refinished, powdercoated, cleared and re-assembled. So ran me about 4000 and my highest offer was $2500.

Still mocking everything up, undecided if I am going to keep the covers off or not. Need to order some HID's before I test the light output.

otaku85 07-28-10 10:49 AM

man i need some of your mojo so i can get my fd project rolling.

evot23 07-28-10 11:40 AM

did you use local guy (Gainesville) for powdercoating??

otaku85 07-29-10 10:40 AM

a look i would go for if i had the cash is a polished face with the lip anodized black

purerx7 07-29-10 06:06 PM

^ I am actually keeping the work meisters

I was going to, but since the wheels were three piece they would not take them apart to powdercoat the face. So I had to take the wheel to get dis-assembled by a wheel place in Tampa and they then powdercoated them.

CF Feed bumper covers came in today.

Big car show on saturday so I have been putting in a shit ton of time working on the car. Getting the front bumper aligned and straightened, dropping the car another 1/2" or so, fixing a bunch of broken things. Way too many things to fix. Love car shows as it forces me to get all my shit together. Going to be another long day tomorrow. Will get some proper pictures with the bumper covers on and hopefully some professional shots this weekend.

yup, take lots of pics at Remix. I'll be at autostarz jax but not as big a production as Miami...and the car definitely not going to be a show queen by any means. Gonna be a while before I get the suspension, brakes, hood, PAINT, I want all together. Wifey wants a new house, which the only good thing about that is potential for land...which means I can get a shop/garage built away from the house. We'll see how it all turns out with the bank....

papsmagu 07-31-10 11:11 AM

saw this car in person and the body kit is one of the best i have seen. tastefully done. pictures do not do this car justice. its usually the opposite. i see pics of cars on the forum and then see them in person and get disappointed. Not this car! Sweet ride!
